Shoot its Legs to Destroy Them

A Brood Commander's legs can be destroyed by shooting them down with a few bullets. While shooting anywhere on the Brood Commander will deal damage, it's better to aim for its legs to destroy them.

Note that even with some of its legs destroyed, the Brood Commander will still continue to move towards you, even if it has to crawl. Just continue shooting its body to finish it off.

Use AoE Attacks to Clear its Army

The Brood Commander's greatest strength is its ability to spawn new Terminids. When you're facing a Brood Commander and its spawn, throw some grenades to clear off the smaller Terminids, or even a damaging stratagem such as the Orbital Precision Strike to kill everything including the Brood Commander herself.

Just remember that it will never run out of spawns; as long as it stays alive, it will continue to create more Terminids. It's not a very strong opponent, but it will spell trouble with you if you keep it alive.

Keep Your Distance and Beware its Rush Attack

The Brood Commander can only hit with melee attacks. Its attacks are dangerous if you get hit, but you can avoid being hit by it by simply running away from it.

It walks slowly most of the time, but will run to do a rush attack once in a while. You'll recognize that it's about to do this when it starts standing upright. As long as you're keeping your distance and paying attention to the Brood Commander, it shouldn't be hard to run away from this rush attack.
