This is a list of all the best potions to use and buff yourself for raids in FFXIV Dawntrail 7.05 (FF14). Read on to learn more about the recommended raid potions for Tanks, DPS, and Healers, and their effects here!

Role Potion Effect (HQ)
Tank Grade 2 Gemdraught of Strength STR +10% (Max 392)
Melee DPS
Ranged DPS
(includes Ninja and Viper)		 Grade 2 Gemdraught of Dexterity DEX +10% (Max 392)
Magic DPS Grade 2 Gemdraught of Intelligence INT +10% (Max 392)
Healer Grade 2 Gemdraught of Mind MND +10% (Max 392)

As of Patch 7.05, the best potions to craft and use are the Grade 2 Gemdraught potions since they give a 10% boost to the stat of your choice. Remember that the Viper and Ninja jobs use DEX as their main stat instead of STR so use their corresponding potions accordingly.

Effects of Potions

Boosted Stats for 30 Seconds

The Potion you use based on your job role will have a duration of 30 seconds so try to use them often during runs. HQ (High Quality) Potions also give higher stats so make sure to craft those, especially in endgame content.

When to Use Potions

For Endgame Content

Extreme Trials and Savage Raids are one of the hardest content in FFXIV which makes potions essential for maxing out your stats. Try to craft the highest tier potions you can for your current level as using potions below your level will have diminishing effects.

Potion Recovery Time No Longer Part of GCD

Since Patch 7.0, using potions in between rotations no longer delays the GCD (Global Cooldown) of skills. This means that you can weave in your potion usage at any time you want without worrying about your skill rotations.

When Dealing Damage

When a boss's gimmicks start to end and you have an opening, consume a potion first before doing your skill rotations to maximize the damage you deal. Do this especially when your team decides to pour all their skills.
