FFXIV's Free Trial allows you to play up to Stormblood, the game's second expansion pack following the events of Heavensward.

Join the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and fight to liberate the imperial conquered states of Ala Mhigo and Doma from the Garlean Empire!

  • FFXIV's Free Trial was expanded on October 3, 2023 following the release of Patch 6.5. This saw the level cap increase from Lv. 60 to Lv. 70, and include Stormblood, the game's second full expansion.

    Free to Play members can now also play as both Samurai and Red Mage, the two new jobs introduced in the expansion!

    Free Trial Progress Carries Over

    Your progress during Free Trial carries over when you decide to purchase and subscribe to the game.

    If you've reached the Free Trial's level cap and want to continue playing after Stormblood, then your progress caries over when you switch to the full game!

    Level Your Classes Up to Lv. 70!

    The Free Trial allows you to level up your classes all the way to Lv. 70! Combat classes will now have more interesting or complex rotations, and you'll have access to more dungeons and trails to take on!

    Note: Classes introduced in Shadowbringers, Endwalker, and Dawntrail are not available during Free Trial.

  • Free Trial Players can only create up to eight (8) playablle characters in each Physical Data Center
  • Free Trial Players have a level cap of Lv.70
  • Free Trial Players can only have a maximum of 300,000 gil.
  • Free Trial Players cannot use the shout, tell, or yell in-game chat commands
  • Free Trial Players cannot use the in-game market board
  • Free Trial Players cannot trade with other players
  • Free Trial Players cannot send in-game letters using the Moogle Delivery Service.
  • Free Trial Players cannot hire Retainers
  • Free Trial players can join a Linksell or Cross-World Linkshell if invited, but cannot create a new Linkshell or Cross-World Linkshell on their own.
  • Free Trial Players cannot create or join a Free Company (FC)
  • Free Trial Players can join a party if invited or by using the Duty Finder, but cannot assembale a party on their own
  • Free Trial Players cannot create or join a PvP team or participate in Rival Wings, Crystalline Conflict, or Frontline
  • Free Trial Players cannot playy Ultimate Raids
  • Free Trial Players can log into The Lodestone, but cannot use community contents
  • Free Trial Players cannot log into the Official Forums or the Companion Application

    The above restrictions only apply for players during the Free Trial. If a player decides to purchase the full game and subscribe, they will immediately gain access to previously restricted content.
