The differences between the Complete Edition and Starter Edition are as shown in the table above.

If you want to enjoy FF14 to the fullest, We recommend buying the Complete Edition. If you want to try out what FFXIV is like, We recommend buying the Starter Edition.

However, there is a Free Trial version that allows you to play from A Realm Reborn to Stormblood for free, so we recommend trying that out first especially if you are a new player to the franchise.

The Complete Edition includes all content and expansions and allows you to play up to the maximum level (Lvl. 100). The only difference between the regular version and the Collector's Edition is whether or not it includes bonus in-game items.

What's the Difference between Normarl and Collector's Edition?

By purchasing the Collector's Edition, you can get additional in-game items. There is no difference between the two editions in regards to battle and progress. You can also upgrade to the Collector's Edition at the Mog Station after purchasing the regular version.

You can play the same content shown above if you avail the Free Trial version.

The Starter Edition allows you to play up to the third expansion, Stormblood and caps your level to Level 70. The Starter Pack comes with a 30-day free trial period. However, this 30-day free trial period can only be used once per platform per account. After the free trial period ends, you will need to pay for the monthly subscription as usual.

Can I Upgrade between Editions?

To upgrade the Starter Edition, you will need to add the latest expansion pack or purchase the Complete Edition. By upgrading, you will be able to play the content of the latest expansion pack.

What's the Difference between Free Trial and Starter Edition?

Unlike the free trial version, the starter pack has no restrictions on play. This package is recommended for those who want to continue playing after the free trial period has ended .

You cannot play FFXIV on Dawntrail alone! This pack is for those who bought the trial version of the starter pack and tried it out, but want to continue playing, or for those who played Stormblood or Shadowbringers but want to play Dawntrail.

Are There Any Sales for Final Fantasy XIV?
