Eden's Gate: Resurrection (Normal) is the first raid tier of the Eden raids in patch 5.01 of Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers (FF14). Read on to learn the raid mechanics, attack patterns, and rewards of this boss fight!
The fight starts with the walls or edges of the arena being a Death Wall. Do your best to avoid stepping on the edges!
Eden's first mechanic is called Spear of Paradise which is a two-hit tankbuster on the main tank.
Simply use a cooldown and heal as necessary.
Eden's Gravity deals high raid-wide damage, so be ready to heal big and get ready for the next mechanic.
During Vice and Virtue, four players will be marked with an AoE circle. Spread out from the party to avoid hitting other players and drop the puddles near the edges of the arena if possible.
Afterwards, the boss will cast Eden's Flare which is an arena-wide donut AoE. Stack on the safe spot at the center to avoid taking damage.
Another Vice and Virtue will be casted, but has Tank tethers this time. Beams will go out so spread out a little bit to avoid hitting each other and use mits to soak the incoming damage.
Once the boss teleports to a corner and starts hard casting Pure Light, gap close or use Sprint if you don't have a gap closer and reposition behind the boss to avoid the huge arena-wide cleave in front once the cast finishes.
Just take note to not touch the walls as they will instantly kill you the moment you step on it.
Afterwards, the boss casts Delta Attack which places a plus-shaped line AoE and AoE circles on all players. Simply spread out and reposition to a safe tile while avoiding overlapping with other player's circles to survive the mechanic.
Eden will cast Dimensional Shift which deals raid-wide damage, changes the arena and summons orbs of light. The orbs target players with line AoEs, so pay attention to where you stand and keep dodging to survive the mechanic.
While the line AoEs are still going out, Paradise Lost will be casted, adding AoE circles that spawn where each player is standing. While it is annoying to deal with, make sure to spread out and avoid both line and circle AoEs!
While dodging both line and circle AoEs, the boss will teleport to a corner again and start casting another Pure Light.
Avoid the ongoing AoEs and make your way behind the boss before it finishes the cast to avoid getting hit.
Afterwards, Eden will cast another Dimensional Shift, deal raid-wide damage and change the arena back to normal.
Fragor Maximus deals a raid-wide damage, changes the arena into space, and marks the start of the Add Phase for this boss fight.
Two arena-wide AoE parameters will be placed at the east and west side of the arena so head north or south and have shields or regen up to mitigate damage.
There will be two adds spawning during Guardians of Paradise. Each add should be picked up by both tanks and can be stacked near each other.
Deal as much damage as possible and take both Guardians down to proceed. An unskippable cutscene will play and deal unavoidable damage, so heal as necessary once the platform returns to normal.
Once the cutscene is done, everyone will return to the normal arena at the start and all mechanics will simply repeat until the boss is taken down.
