There are two types of basic attacks in the game, the Normal Attack and Heavy Attack. Heavy Attacks are slower than Normal Attacks and consume more power from your Beam Katana, but they also do more damage.

Heavy Jump Attack |
You can perform a Jump Attack by pressing the attack buttons while jumping in the air.
When you are close to finishing off an opponent, the game will prompt the player to perform a Killer Slash by showing a large red arrow on the screen. Move the Right Control Stick (Button Controls) or your right Joy-Con controller (Motion Controls) in the direction of the arrow to perform a Killer Slash.

Guard / Lock On |
Dodging allows you to evade enemy attacks by flipping backward. Guarding yourself against attacks also locks you on to a target, but getting hit while on guard will also consume your beam katana's power.
When you press A to dodge just when an enemy's attack is about to land, you can slow down time. While time is slowed, you can use this opportunity to land several heavy blows on your opponent. You can also press the ZR Button to perform a Perfect Dodge Throw.

While continuously attacking your enemies, you will occasionally see stars circling above their heads, which indicates that they have been stunned. While enemies are stunned, you can throw them to the ground. This is one of the many wrestling moves Travis can perform.
How to Perform Wrestling Moves
To see all your available Death Glove Skills, hold the L Button. All your Death Glove Skills should appear around Travis. Each skill corresponds to one of your A, B, X, Y Buttons. To use a Death Glove Skill, press the button corresponding to that skill while holding down the L Button.
You can also customize your Death Glove by adding chips. Death Glove Chips can grant you certain stat upgrades at the cost of a debuff to another stat.
Death Glove Skill Tree and Chips
In order to unlock new Death Glove Chips, you will need to gather junk materials. Taking on boss fights in the Time Machine in the Labratory is one way to obtain rare junk materials. The harder the difficutly, the more likely you are to receive rare junk material!
The tension gauge is represented by the feline icon at the bottom-right corner of the screen. The feline will grow from a kitten to a red tiger as the gauge fills up. Your tension gauge fills up every time you attack an enemy, but it also decreases when you get attacked.
When your tension gauge maxes out, your combos hit faster and harder and also allow you to deliver more attacks.
Attacking and guarding depletes the power of your Beam Katana. To recharge your beam katana, Hold the R Button while quickly moving the Right Control Stick (Button Controls) or shaking your right Joy-Con controller (Motion Controls).
Charging Your Beam Katana also leaves you vulnerable to enemy attacks, so it is best to move away from enemies while charging your katana.
After taking down an enemy or performing a successful Killer Slash, you can activate the Slash Reel, which functions similar to a slot machine. By matching up the images in the slots, you can receive special bonuses and enter different battle modes.
Slash Reel Effects and How to Use
After getting a 777 on the Slash Reel, Full Armor Mode stands by until you activate it by pressing L + R. While in this armor, Travis can launch his Multi-Missile at all enemies in view.

Getting green 777 on the Slash Reel triggers Full Green Mode, which also stands by until you want to activate it. This armor has the Multi-missile attack as well and a Tiger Attack that functions similarly as the Death Kick.
By getting 3 straight BAR icons in the Slash Reel, you can enter Mustang Mode. Mustang Mode allows you to continuously slash your opponent without being disrupted and without consuming battery power.
By getting 3 straight bell icons in the Slash Reel, you activate Throw-Crazy Mode. As long as the mode is still active, you can perform wrestling moves on enemies without them needing to be stunned.
Getting 3 star icons allows you to gain invincibility for a short period of time. While in invincible mode, getting hit by attacks just makes your body translucent.
Getting 3 straight cherry icons in the Slash Reel rewards you with 600 Uc (money), while 3 straight melon icons rewards you with 50 WESN.
Several DonMai Sushi stalls are found in strategic locations throughout the game, players can have the option to eat in for buffs that will apply to your next battle, or takeout to add items to your inventory which can be eaten in-combat.
Eat In food items must be eaten at the respective store and cannot be brought into battle. The effects of these items will last until the end of your next battle and give you different buffs that can enhance your skills.

Takeout Items are food items that you can use while in battle. They can be used to replenish your health or buff other stats. It is always recommended to bring an ample supply of takeout before going into battle.
Different Side Jobs allow you to acquire more UtopiCoins, which you can use to enter into ranked matches with the different Galactic Superheroes and progress further into the game. You can find several side jobs around the map, including volunteer work, defense missions, and designated matches.
Among the side jobs, the Coast Guard volunteer mission is the best place to farm money due to its relative simplicity to get a Gold rank. You may also want to grind through all Designated Matches then sell the junk at Beef Head.
Farm WESN points via the Time Machine at the Laboratory. WESN points allow you to purchase stat buffs at the Power Up Machine or gamble at the Gacha machine.
You can power up your skills by using the Power Up Machine located in the lab underneath your Motel room, which you can access by traveling down the pole in your living room. There are four stats you can enhance with this machine: Health, Attack, Power, and Death Skill.
