Episode 1: Darkness

During the first part of the story, you will learn the ropes of No More Heroes 3 and meet all the characters that you befriend or battle on your adventure. Master GiDa and his tutorial screens will help you start your journey.

The first galactic superhero you will need to take down is Mr. Black Hole. You will need to defeat him on a simulation of his home planet and in space, so be prepared for a tough and lengthy battle.

The second episode is where the main gameplay loop of No More Heroes 3 begins. Before you are able to battle the galactic superhero, you must first complete the needed number of Designated Matches and earn enough money for the entry fee.

The second galactic superhero you will need to defeat to reach Rank 9 is Gold Joe. Gold Joe makes use of unique magnetic that make him difficult to battle but can also be his primary weakness.

Episode 3 will bring you to the Thunderdome, a new area of the map covered in vast salt flats with a small city at the upper edge called Neo Osaka. Here, you will compete in more Designated Matches and earn enough money to challenge Black Night Direction.

However, upon confronting Black Night Direction, you realize that he has already been killed by Native Dancer. You now need to challenge Native Dancer and take his spot as Rank 8 in the galactic superhero rankings.

In Episode 4, Travis will be reunited with an old friend, Kimmy Howell, who now goes by the name Kimmy Love. Though Travis does not recognize her at first, Kimmy has been anxiously awaiting for her and Travis to meet during her live concert.

Though Travis was supposed to meet up with Vanishing Point at Kimmy's concert, this was interrupted when Kimmy stabbed Vanishing Point after trying to kill her. Now, Travis has to defeat Kimmy to move on in the rankings.

Episode 5 will have you traverse through the large Call of Battle survival field to complete the needed number of Designated Matches to challenge Velvet Chair Girl.

However, meeting Velvet Chair Girl would not go as expected. After a game of musical chairs, Travis is instead forced to face off against Ohma, her pet monster alien.

After defeating the first half of the galactic superheroes, Travis now has to take down Midori Midorikawa, the dark world princess, to attain the fifth rank. However, before you can battle her, you must first navigate through her creepy high school while fighting your way through enemies.

Once you finish with your battle, you also get to meet an old friend of Travis, NT Kamui, who is also Midori Midorikawa's mysterious boyfriend.

Though Sniping Lee was next in line to take out Travis, he was quickly dispatched by Notorious, a pro-wrester, part-time superhero, and new friend of Travis. After discovering this, Sylvia took it upon herself to find a new opponent for Travis.

An endless number of Mass-produced Destroymen start popping out of the ground. Before Travis could be overwhelmed by the crowd of enemies, Notorious comes in and reveals Travis' true opponent for this Episode, Destroyman True Face.

Like many of the other galactic superheroes, Sonic Juice does not want to kill Travis but needs to in fear for his own life. After beating him in an RPG battle and regular boss battle, Travis decides to spare him.

However, after sparing him, FU comes in and murders the alien in cold blood, showing that many of the aliens had no other choice but to follow FU's orders. Because FU had also murdered Paradox Bandit before this, this elevates Travis to the second rank.

Before battling FU, you receive mail from a mysterious stranger asking to meet you at the Motel Parking Lot. When the stranger finally arrives, you find out that it is Travis' older twin brother, Henry Cooldown, who has come to kill Travis.

After seemingly defeating Henry, he comes in with his goons while Travis is at the toilet and kills him. In his death, he finds himself in the world of the Deathman game. After a brief chat with Deathman himself, Travis is revived and makes his way out of his grave.

For the last episode of the game, it is finally time to face off against FU in Damon Tower. Being the number 1 ranked galactic superhero, he will be no easy feat to destroy. After beating FU back into his old form, he attempts to flee the planet but is ultimately killed by Damon.

You find out that all the aliens were part of Damon's plan to kill Travis for punching him in the face. To finally bring peace to Santa Destroy and the world, Travis must put an end to Damon once and for all.

In each Episode, you'll need to complete a set number of Designated Matches in order to qualify for the Ranked Battle against the Boss of that Episode.

Locate Blue or Red Crystals

Red Designated Match.jpg
The yellow circles in your map indicate that a designated match can be found in that area. In the open world, they're denoted by blue or red crystals. The crystal icons on the top right of the screen indicate how many number of Designated Matches you need to fight.

Big crystals are for Red, small crystals are for Blue

The larger crystals indicate how many Red Designated Matches you need, while the smaller crystals indicate how many Blue Designated Matches you need to complete.
