Vito Scaletta, the protagonist of Mafia 2, does not return in Mafia: The Old Country. The events of the game take place between the years 1904 - 1907, way before Vito was even born (1925). This also means Vito is not even referenced in the game's story.

Other Mafia 2 Characters Returning

Mafia: The Old Country is more of a prequel rather than a continuation to the other games but there are other Mafia 2 characters making an appearance in the game, however, as younger versions of themselves.

  • Giuseppe, Vito's very own arms dealer and counterfeiter, returns as we trace back his roots to Sicily before he even went to Empire Bay in Mafia 2.
  • Don Frank Vinci and Leo Galante, before they founded the Vinci Crime Family in Mafia 2, shows up as young mafiosos working for the Galante Crime Family in Sicily.
