Explore Mode lets you freely roam around the map, earning collectibles, spending dinari, and hunt for achievements in Mafia: The Old Country. Check out this guide to learn how to unlock Explore Mode as well as what you can do in this mode!

Explore Mode Update
The developers have announced that Free Ride will be coming to the game. Free Ride is different from Explore Mode such that it has will include new activities and additional gameplay, further improving the game's replayability.

How to Unlock Explore Mode
Complete Chapter 2 of the Story
Explore Mode can be unlocked after completing Chapter 2, the part where you go to San Celeste and compete in the horse race at the Palio.
Chapter 2: Palio Guide and Walkthrough
Access from the Main Menu
Once you complete Chapter 2, you'll be able to access Explore Mode through the Main Menu under Chapter Replay. This is a separate mode from the story so it won't interrupt progress.

Free Roam Around the Map
In Explore Mode, you'll be able to freely roam around the map without the boundaries set by the story. Explore the map as you wish either by walking around, riding a horse, or driving a car!
Driving Unlocked Earlier in Explore Mode
Even if you haven't yet unlocked driving vehicles in the story, you'll be able to drive around in Explore Mode. Just head to the nearest garage and bring out the car you unlocked from linking your 2K account.
Complete Your Collections
Collectibles can be earned while in Explore Mode, letting you freely explore the map and actively look out for objects for your collection. Check out our guide for the list of locations for newspapers, mystery foxes, Saints' Cards, photographs, and Trinacria to find them in Explore Mode.
Spend Dinari at Shops
You can also spend the Dinari you earned in Explore Mode on cars, outfits, and weapons from shops. The Dinari you have in Explore Mode is shared with the ones you get from the Story Mode.
Go Achievement Hunting
Explore Mode is also a great way to earn trophies and achievements without being constrained by the story objectives. Check out our list of trophies and achievements for anything you can do and try to earn them while in Explore Mode. Note that there are no enemies in this mode, so combat-related achievements have to be done with Chapter Replay instead.
