Fight the Cold Tips |
---|
|
Start by Frostbreaking (X key) from the Old Dreadnought to the nearby Oil and Construction Wagons. Build an Extraction District on an Oil Wagon to start harvesting Oil.
With the source of Oil secured, click on the Old Dreadnought and activate the Furnace to acquire a source of Heat.
Time is an important resource! Remember to use the Pause function if you're looking around the map or uncertain of your next step!
Tips and Tricks: A Beginner's Guide
Provide Basic Infrastructure Tips |
---|
|
Prefabs are resources that are used in the construction of Districts and Buildings. Prefab resource nodes are indicated by an icon with a brick and log.
Housing Districts are the primary means of providing shelter for the people. Ideally, you should place Housing Districts near the furnace or beside each other to reduce Heat Demand.
While your Housing Districts are being built, Frostbreak northwards towards fertile soil, indicated by a plant icon and build a Food District on them.
Continue Frostbreaking towards the resource nodes north of the Old Dreadnought until you reach the Seal Colony, another source of food.
Prepare for the Whiteout Tips |
---|
|
You'll need to stockpile a whopping 40,000 Food to survive the whiteout. If you have access to the Seal Colony, build a Food District on top to get an additional source of Food.
Optionally, you can order Emergency Shifts on your Food Districts to expedite Food production, or instruct the Wanderers to Tighten Belts to temporarily reduce Food consumption.
If you still haven't stockpiled enough Food just before the whiteout, you'll be presented with the option of slaughtering the seal colony or letting the elders go into the frost.
Option | Effects |
---|---|
Slaughter the Seals |
・Get a massive boost in Food production. ・You drive the seals into extinction (Food District no longer supplies food) |
Let Our Elders Go |
・Food requirement to survive the whiteout is reduced from 40,000 to 25,000. ・Trust and Relations fall when people die. |
The consequence of either choice does not matter because you'll manage another city in the next chapter.
