How to Parry

In Hell Is Us, you can time your guard to parry their attack. Read on to learn how to parry and master it.

Press Your Guard Key Before the Attack Connects

To parry an attack, you would need to time your weapon to be in front of your character the moment an enemy attack connects. A successful parry will negate incoming damage and create an opening for a counterattack. Parries can lead to enemies getting fully stunned and open for a riposte. All weapon types can parry, but not all attacks are parriable, such as the Artillery Walker's charged attack.

Enemies can eventually be stunned if you parry them enough times. The visual cue is when enemies subtly change color just before they strike. If you parry these types of attacks, the enemies will be stunned and can be riposted.

Use Weapons with Higher Parry Grade

A weapon's Parry Agility directly affects the timing window for a successful parry. A higher grade makes it easier to deflect attacks, which is crucial for consistently setting up Ripostes. In parrying, it is strongly recommend to equip Twin Axes, as they boast the highest Parry Grade (A) of all weapon types.

Mark of the Betrayed is an essential active relic for any parry-focused build. After a successful parry, it increases all damage you deal by 200% for 10 seconds, making your follow-up attacks absolutely devastating.

Monsters like the Feral Walker have a reckless charging head on and overwhelming you with attacks. In addtion to using drone and abilities, it is good to brace for his attack, parry the incoming hit, then riposte to execute the enemy.
