1. Visit the Elderly Couple in Vyssa Hills Refugee Camp

Talking to the elderly couple in Vyssa Hills Refugee Camp

If you talk to the elderly couple in the Vyssa Hills Refugee Camp, they will express their regrets of leaving their dog in their old home in the Village of Jova.

2. Progress Until the Sabinian Patrols Leave the Village of Jova

Protective Soldier Looking After the Dog

It is important to reach the part where the Sabinian Patrols leave the Village of Jova first throughout the main story. Man's Best Friend cannot be activated before this due to a Protective Soldier looking after the tied-up dog in the village. Once the patrols have left, you can return to the village in order to free the dog.

3. Find the Tied-Up Dog in the Village of Jova

3.1 Find the well along with the red car and green car
Look for a well in the middle of the village. Find a house beside a red car and a green car around the area.
3.2 Finding the dog tied up beside his doghouse
Once you find the house, look for the dog tied up beside his doghouse. Interact with the dog in order to free him.
3.3 Dog
After freeing the dog, you will receive a Dog Collar with his name engraved in it. Take this and fast travel to Vyssa Hills.

4. Talk to the Elderly Couple about Max's Situation in Vyssa Hills

4.1 Follow the road going left
In Vyssa Hills, follow the road going to the left. Keep going left until you find a ladder. Climb up the ladder and follow the wooden platforms until you find the elderly couple in the camp: Alban Vosh and Esther Vosh.
4.2 Trading the Dog
Trade the Dog's Collar with Alban Vosh to inform him about freeing Max from their old house.

Optional Outcome: Finding Max with Rebeca at Lake Cynon

If you managed to free Max before Aabot Jaffer leaves Vyssa Hills, you can spot him resting beside Rebeca at Lake Cynon later on.

How to Unlock Man's Best Friend

Free Max to Receive the Dog's Collar

Man's Best Friend will be triggered after receiving the Dog's Collar from Max. Afterwards, this needs to be delivered to Alban Vosh in Vyssa Hills, who was worried and regretful about leaving Max alone when they left their old home in the Village of Jova. Delivering this to Alban Vosh will mark the Good Deed as finished.

This Good Deed does not have any deadlines and can be accomplished at any time.
