How to Fend Off Wolves
You may fend off wolves from your Ranch by spanking them with the attack button or baiting them into Wolf Traps in the Cult of the Lamb Woolhaven DLC. Read on to learn how to fend of wolves and the rewards for doing so.

Swat Wolves Away
Your Ranch will be at risk for wolf attacks once you reach Winter III. You may go near them and spank them using the attack button to drive them away.

Be sure to take note of the markers on the screen to know where the wolves will be attacking from. This will help you position yourself well before the wolves kill your animals.

Some Followers Defend the Ranch

Some followers may have Traits that can allow them to fight off wolves. This can be helpful if you are too occupied to tend to your Ranch.

Place Wolf Traps Near the Ranch

Placing Meat Inside Wolf Trap

Once you unlock Wolf Traps, you may build and place them around the Ranch to bait and kill wolves that come near. You will need to place Meat inside the Wolf Trap in order to successfully bait them.

Animals are Protected

Raise Ranch Animals

Fending off wolves means that your animals will not be killed. This allows you to continue levelling them up and taking advantage of the resources that they yield.

Increase Animal Levels

Increase Animal Levels
When you successfully protect your Ranch, your animals' level gauges will increase. This can push them into levelling up.

Animals of a certain level can be used to clear quests from Baraq's Quest Board. Once you clear these quests, you will unlock more animal species.

How to Unlock Ranch Animals

Obtain Meat From Wolf Traps

Once a wolf is captured in a Wolf Trap, you will be able to harvest their Meat. You may put this harvested meat into the Wolf Traps again, or use it for cooking.
