Local and online co-op multiplayer is available in Cult of the Lamb! Learn how to play multiplayer, how to play online co-op, and the multiplayer features in this guide.
List of Contents

Cult of the Lamb can be played entirely as a single-player game, but it also has the option for you to play multiplayer with a friend in co-op mode.
The multiplayer mode of this game can handle only a maximum of two players, which means you and one friend. The main player gets to play as the Lamb, while the second player plays as the Goat.

To start multiplayer, connect a gamepad or controller while the game is running. This enables the co-op option, which will remain greyed out if no controller is detected.

Once a controller is connected, select the Add Co-Op button to begin. Since multiplayer is local and played on a single screen, you need at least two controllers, one for you and one for the other player.

Choose which controller you want to use, and once everything is set, you're ready to play. You can now play Cult of the Lamb together, managing the same cult.
Player 2 will play as the Goat, while the main player continues to play as the Lamb.

Online multiplayer is only available for Steam players and uses the Remote Play feature, which is currently the only way to play online. If Remote Play is enabled, simply click Stream to start playing remotely. Invite a friend, then follow the same steps above to begin co-op.
Online play is not officially supported on any platform. All multiplayer modes are local only. However, Steam's Remote Play makes it technically possible to play online by streaming the game, even though it is still treated as local multiplayer.

The first time you enable co-op mode, a new set of tarot cards will be unlocked. These are the Co-Op Tarot Cards that all require you to have another player with you and are affected by how you play with each other.
Tarot cards can be equipped while in a dungeon from random drops or from encountering Clauneck.

Co-op relics also get unlocked upon enabling co-op mode for the first time. These relics take advantage of having two players in the game.
One relic can be equipped at a time during a dungeon run. Relics can be obtained if you encounter Chemach in a dungeon, or they may randomly appear after defeating a room of enemies.
