There are 56 weapons available in Cult of the Lamb. These include Flails and Legendary Weapons, which were added in the Woolhaven DLC.

All Weapon Types

Weapon Types and Effects

Weapon Attack Speed Attacks
Sword Sword 1 Light Attack:
Three quick sword slashes.
Heavy Attack:
Slam your sword on the target area after a short windup time.
Axe Axe 0.5 Light Attack:
Three slow attacks which have big attack range and deal high damage.
Heavy Attack:
Throw your axe at a ranged location like a boomerang.
Dagger Dagger 2 Light Attack:
Five quick attacks with short range.
Heavy Attack:
Rain down daggers from the air, damaging enemies within a line.
Gauntlets Gauntlets 0.8 Light Attack:
Three attacks with the third hit dealing high damage.
Heavy Attack:
Spin around to damage enemies around you.
Hammer Hammer 0.25 Light Attack:
Slow attack where the hammer is slammed on the targeted area.
Heavy Attack:
Slow attack which deals high damage on the target location. Can be charged.
Blunderbuss Blunderbuss 1 Light Attack:
Long range attack that is more effective close-range. Contains three ammo which needs time to be reloaded.
Heavy Attack:
Fire a bullet in a straight line.
Flail Flail 1 Light Attack:
Swing your flail forward three times.
Heavy Attack:
Launch your flail forward and charge towards the latched target.

There are seven weapon types that you can use in the game. Each weapon have their own strengths and weaknesses, ranging from damage output, attack speed, and range of attack.

Weapon Class Effect How to Unlock
Bane Weapons Regular Weapons No additional effects. Unlocked by default.
Bane Weapons Bane Weapons Have a chance of poisoning enemies when attacking. Unlock Bane Weapons upgrade. Available from the start.
Vampiric Weapons Vampiric Weapons Have a chance to heal after defeating an enemy. Unlock Vampiric Weapons upgrade. Available after getting Might of the Devout I.
Necromantic Weapons Necromantic Weapons Have a chance to summon ghosts from slain enemies which attack other enemies. Unlock Necromantic Weapon upgrade. Available after getting second Half Heart upgrade.
Zealous Weapons Zealous Weapons Collected Fervour will increase Divine Inspiration meter. Unlock Zealous Weapons upgrade. Available after getting Might of the Devout II.
Merciless Weapons Merciless Weapons Have a chance to deal critical hit. Unlock Merciless Weapons upgrade. Available after getting Might of the Devout III.
Godly Weapons Godly Weapons Deal more damage but rarer to appear. Unlock Godly Weapons upgrade. Available after getting Might of the Devout IV.
Golden EndLegendary Weapons Have additional effects per weapon type and have higher damage output. Craft from Legendary Weapon Fragments

There are eight weapon classes in the game which add extra attack effects to weapons. These are unlocked by getting upgrades from holding sermons in your temple.

Use Light and Heavy Attacks

Weapon Attacks

Weapons are your main way of dealing damage in Cult of the Lamb. Every weapon has a light attack and heavy attack, so you can mix up your offense against tougher enemies.

Weapons are obtained at the beginning of the run. You can then get more powerful weapons in the middle of runs from random room rewards or pick up a weapon from Kudaai.

Heavy Attacks and Weapon Masteries

Weapon Masteries

Heavy attacks, which were added in the free Relics of the Old Faith update, need to be unlocked via a sermon upgrade in your temple. These can then be upgraded by unlocking weapon masteries in the same upgrade tree.

Weapon Mastery Effect
Sword Mastery Sword Mastery Increases the damage dealt by the Sword's Heavy Attack.
Axe Mastery Axe Mastery Increases the range and damage dealt by throwing the Axe.
Dagger Mastery Dagger Mastery Increases the number of, and damage dealt by, thrown Daggers.
Gauntlets Mastery Gauntlets Mastery Increases the damage dealt by the Gauntlet's Spin Attack.
Hammer Mastery Hammer Mastery Increases the damage dealt by the Charged Hammer.
Blunderbuss Mastery Blunderbuss Mastery Increases the range and damage of the Blunderbuss.
Flail Mastery Flail Mastery Increases the damage dealt by the Flail's Heavy Attack.

Unlock Might of the Devout Slots to Increase Damage

Might of the Devout

Might of the Devout is an unlockable sermon upgrade which increases the level of the weapons you get during a run. These increases your damage output which is useful as you explore the later dungeons in the game.

Craft Legendary Weapons

Legendary Weapon

Legendary Weapons were added in the Woolhaven DLC. These weapons have useful extra effects as well as increased damage, but you need to get their respective Legendary Weapon Fragments before you can unlock them.
