Tips For Fighting Bosses
Preserve Your Health
Bosses may have attacks that are difficult to dodge. You will want to make sure to take as little damage as possible before you enter the fight. To keep your health up, you may also choose to go to dungeon rooms that restore your Hearts.
If a boss is too difficult to handle, you may want to consider enabling unlimited health.
Observe Boss Attacking Patterns
There are certain animations and markers you will have to look out for in order to figure out how the boss will attack. Observing these cues are the key to avoiding attacks and knowing when it is best to deal damage.
Optimize Equipment
During a crusade run, you may be given the option to switch out equipment and curses as well as receive additional Tarot Cards. It is best to choose wisely in order to perform well during battles.
You may also choose your preferred Fleece before entering the dungeon, as some of them have helpful effects.
How to Recruit Bosses
Defeat Minibosses One Time
All minibosses can be recruited as followers as soon as you defeat them for the first time. You will have to speak to them in the cult settlement first in order to convert them.
Defeat Base Game Bosses in the Post-Game
The Bishops of the Old Faith can be recruited after defeating them in the post-game. You may need to sacrifice followers in order to unlock their dungeons again.
The One Who Waits is the one exception to this pattern, as he can be recruited immediately after beating him.
Woolhaven Bosses Have Different Conditions
The Woolhaven DLC bosses all have different recruitment conditions. The Executioner will need to be pardoned and indoctrinated after being defeated. On the other hand, you may recruit Yngya after your first win against her.
Marchosias is the only boss that cannot be recruited. Regardless of your decisions, he will choose to die.
How to Find Bosses
Find Their Boss Room
A boss or miniboss is typically found in the last room of their dungeon. You may have to go through several rooms before fighting the boss.
Once you get to the boss room, you may need to find the square that the boss is located in.
