Marchosias Boss Guide
Boss of the Fallen Temple
Marchosias is the boss of the Fallen Temple. Before you challenge him, you'll have the option among three random weapons and three random curses. Be sure to choose a combination that suits your playstyle.
How to Beat Marchosias

A red arrow sigil will appear from Marchosias. After a short delay, he will thrust a large limb in that direction, before retracting it back into his body. Stay clear of the arrow sigil to avoid damage. |

Marchosias will spew out explosive sacs across the arena. These will linger for a moment before exploding. You can strike these sacs back at Marchosias to deal damage. |
| 3 |
Marchosias will use rot to extend two of his limbs, giving him two arms that can slam down on you. This will limit your positioning, but gives him more spots for you to hit. |
| 4 |
Marchosias will plug his extended limbs into the walls and absorb nearby energy. He will then channel this energy and blast energy beams from his eyes. Keep moving to avoid getting hit, and strike when his beam is locked elsewhere. |
| 5 |
Marchosias sheds his extended limbs and now attacks with both his thrusting limb and explosive sacs. Projectiles will also fire from his detached arms releasing rings of fire that you can dodge through. He also starts hopping around the arena, forcing you to stay aware of your positioning. |
Can You Get Marchosias as a Follower?
Marchosias Will Die Even If You Choose To Indoctrinate Him
After defeating Marchosias, you will be offered the choice to Indoctrinate or Sacrifice him.
Your choice will not matter as Marchosias will die regardless. If you repeatedly choose Indoctrinate, Marchosias will still choose to die, which means he is not available as a follower.

This achievement is exclusive to the Woolhaven DLC, and by simply progressing the story, you'll earn it after defeating Marchosias.
Heart of a Heretic
Similar to your reward from beating the other 4 Bishops in the base game, defeating Marchosias also grants a Heart of a Heretic.
If you've already used the previous four to upgrade the Red Crown, you can use this fifth one to enable or disable winter from Yngya's shrine in Woolhaven.
Marchosias Trophy Decoration Blueprint
In addition to some spoils including the Heart of a Heretic and other building materials, you'll also receive the Marchosias Trophy blueprint which will allow you to build it as a decoration.
