What is World Event Day Cycle in Abyss?

Introduced Day and Night Mechanics

Day and Night Cycle

The new World Event Day Cycle, which came out alongside the Sunken Wilds update, introduced a day and night cycle into the game. The Day lasts 12 minutes, the Night lasts 8 minutes, and the weather varies each shift.

Depending on the event, you may encounter unique mutations and fish species!

Weather Cycle
Along with the Day and Night mechanics, there is also Weather, which changes over the day cycle. The weather has a greater impact than the day cycle, affecting the appearance frequency of certain mutations and impacting player visibility.

Day Effects

Currently, there are no known effects during the Day cycle in Abyss. All fish and mutations will have a normal chance to appear similar to prior versions.

The Day cycle runs from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM in game time, and lasts 12 minutes in real time.

Night Effects

Night Effect

During the Night cycle, the Shadow mutation has a 3x higher probability of appearing. Currently, this is the only known effects during the night cycle in Abyss.

The Night cycle runs from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM in game time, and lasts 8 minutes in real time.

Clear Weather

Clear weather is usual weather in which fish and mutations have a normal chance of appearing.

Rain Weather

Rain Weather
The Liquid mutation will only be present during Rain weather. This is a good time to farm and complete the Monk quest, which needs catching Liquid-mutated fish. Rainy weather may also reduce your visibility due to rain particles.

Fish and mutations will also have a normal chance of appearing during Foggy weather, but the player's visibility will be slightly reduced.

Toxic Weather

During Toxic weather, fish with the Toxic mutation will start to spawn. This is the only time fish with Toxic mutations appear.

Stormy Weather

Stormy weather has the same effect as foggy weather, but the player's visibility is greatly reduced, making it more dangerous especially in areas with a lot of hostile fish.
