Abyss - Do Quests

Claim the quests that you can get and do the objectives that they lay out. Quest rewards grant you a lot of XP and money, making them great for progressing through areas. .

Avoid Running Out of Oxygen

Death Screen
Though obvious, dying in-game has considerable consequences. Aside from losing some of the fish you caught, you also lose money upon death. Though the money you lose can be earned back, it can still set you back a bit, especially if you have a lot of valuable fish to sell.

Sell the Fishes That You Caught

Selling the fish you catch is the main way you earn money in-game. This will allow you to buy better Tubes and Harpoons, which you can use to catch more valuable fish. Better fish will give you more money upon selling them.

In general, better Tubes will allow you to go deeper into the ocean and catch more fish, while better Harpoons help you catch stronger fish.

Buy and Equip Tubes and Guns

Abyss - Equip Tubes

When progressing, make sure to buy better Guns and Tubes. These give you higher Oxygen and Weight capacity to stay underwater longer, and weaken fish with better guns to catch them faster.

Make sure to equip your new gears as you get them as they won't get automatically equipped.

Open Chests in the Area

Open Chests
Opening treasure chests in the area will grant you a small bit of XP, money, and Star Shards. Generally, we do not recommend progressing solely through opening chests, but they still do have rewards, albeit small.

Do All Quests in the Starting Area

Starting Island NPCs
At the beginning, it’s highly recommended that you prioritize leveling up and gaining money by completing all questlines in the starting area. Namely, complete quests from the Kraken, Mr. Black, Virelia, and the Scientist.

Always Catch Lower-Tier Fish

Starting Fish
The first fish you have access to in an area gives a relatively decent amount of XP and Money. Additionally, they will always be easy to come by. Catch and sell them to the Kraken to earn more of money to upgrade your gear.

Equip Your Best Artifacts

Equipping Artifacts
Do not underestimate the value Artifacts can provide! No matter which Geode you are opening, always equip the Artifacts with the best stats for a boost in your gameplay.
