How to Increase Carry Weight

Purchase Tubes at the Tube Shop

Weight Mechanics
Increase your carry weight by purchasing tubes at the Tube Shop found at the starting area. Interact with any of the Tubes to see their prices, stats and their weight.

Preferably, you want a tube that has a high weight capacity to allow you to catch better fish, and to let you carry more during your expeditions.

Get Artifacts via Geode Mining

Weight Artifacts
Another way to increase carry weight is to get artifacts that can modify your Carry Weight stat, you can check this after cracking a Geode and checking the item by going to the inventory to look at any weight stats.

Equip Race that Gives Weight Bonus

Some races may have a weight increase passive. You can equip this race to improve your carrying weight!

Leviathan's Legacy: After you die, instead of dying, regenerate 100% of your oxygen and deal 300% AOE damage around you (8 minutes cooldown)

Weight Mechanics Explained

The More Carry Weight, the Better

High Carry Weight
It is always a boon to have a larger carry weight in the game, as you will need this for larger catches. It also allows you to carry more fished loot at the same time, making your fishing sessions more efficient.

This is important especially in late-game, where you will need larger carry weights to get better catches.

Best Tubes

Speed Decreases if Above Carry Weight

If you do not have the sufficient carry weight for your catch, you can always go above the limit of your carry weight. However, this will cause you to slow down, making movement harder and wasting oxygen in the process.

Make sure to always look at your carry weight everytime you go to an expedition to prevent encumberance.

Only Fish and Special Quest Items Have Weight

Oxygen Pods Quest Reward
Note that only fish and other special quest items have weight, and other items such as Oxygen Pods do not add to it, so make sure to get these items stocked up on your inventory as they won't affect your carry weight whatsoever.
