Absolve Followers of Sin

Absolve Follower of Sin

Absolving followers that have their Sin meters full is the main way to get Sin. You can determine if a follower is ready to be absolved if they are floating and have dark eyes with red pupils.

Use Rituals to Fill Up Sin Meter

Use Rituals

You can fill a follower's Sin meter with the use of various Rituals that you can unlock from Doctrines under Sin. Most of these Rituals will prompt you to choose a follower to fill with Sin, which you can then absolve after the ritual.

Rituals That Generate Sin

Ritual Effect
Rite of Lust Perform a naked dance and choose a follower to receive Sin.
Rite of Wrath All followers get into a fight. Choose a follower to receive Sin.
Sinner's Pride Move all Sin to a single follower.
Gluttony of Cannibals Choose a follower to be feasted upon by others. Outputs one Sin but takes away 40 Faith.

The following Rituals can be used to fill up the Sin meter of your followers. Do note that these are available from Doctrines, so you can only get two initially.

Get Sins from Confession Booth

Use the Confession Booth

Along with the use of Rituals, you can also get the Doctrinal Extremist Doctrine to fill up the Sin meter of followers who use the Confession Booth, as these lets you get Sin from the building instead of Loyalty.

The Confession Booth can be used once per day without any resource requirements, so you can guarantee some Sin with constant use of this building.

Invite Followers for Drinks at the Drinkhouse

Offer Drinks from the Drinkhouse

The Drinkhouse building allows you to brew drinks which can be given to followers to fill their Sin meter.

If you have any followers that almost have their Sin meter full, you can invite them to fill up their meter and absolve Sin out of them.

Perform at the Drum Circle

Perform at the Drum Circle
You can play a rhythm mini game at the Drum Circle in order to increase a follower's Sin meter. The amount of Sin gained will depend on how many notes the player hits successfully.

Hatch a Follower With the Born of Sin Trait

Having two followers mate in the Mating Tent can result in them producing an egg. Once you have an egg, you may choose the traits of the offspring that will hatch from it.

You may get 1 Sin from a baby with the Born of Sin Trait. You will have to hatch the egg at the Hatchery.

Sin is also one of the requirements before you can access the Woolhaven area after purchasing the Woolhaven DLC. It is the last requirement before you can fully unlock the contents of the add-on.

Make Followers Mate

Using the Mating Tent

Once you have a Mating Tent, you can select two of your followers to mate with the use of Sin. Depending on the invited followers, they may produce an egg which can hatch to an offspring.

Upgrade and Decorate Temple

Temple Upgrades

Sin can also be used to get upgrades for the temple. Do note that these does not bring any bonuses, and is purely for decorations.

Purchase Goat and Cowboy Fleeces

The Goat and Cowboy Fleece

You can also use Sin to purchase The Goat and Cowboy Fleece from the Crown menu inside the temple.

The Goat allows you to play as The Goat, which appears as the second player during co-op games, while the Cowboy Fleece guaranteed that you will always get the Blunderbuss weapon during runs.
