Indiana Jones and the Great Circle features a new, original story with familiar tools that are a staple to the Indiana Jones franchise. Read on for a breakdown of the gameplay features and mechanics as well as some of the equipment you can use in the game.
An original story set between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade has been written for this game. It does not appear connected to any previous Indiana Jones game beyond their inherent connection to the movies.
You play the game from a first-person perspective, viewing the world through the eyes of Dr. Indiana Jones. This can help you feel more immersed in the world. However, some cutscenes will shift into a third-person perspective for a more cinematic view.
In this game, often stealth and ingenuity work better than brute force. The game encourages you to explore and discover clues that can help you on your journey. You may also make use of any of the different tools that Indiana Jones has in his arsenal to get through obstacles and the many puzzles you’ll encounter throughout the game.
Can You Play Co-Op or Multiplayer?
For the most part, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a linear game with the story missions taking you to fixed locations. However, it appears as though there will be some open areas where you can take on side quests, interact with the locals, and find your own adventures.
Completing missions rewards you with Adventure Points, which can be spent to upgrade Indy’s abilities. Abilities can help you with combat or exploration and are obtained by finding Adventure Books out in the world.
During the story, you will be able to don disguises to help you get through certain restricted areas.
Different outfits will be available for you to change into, such as the Traveling Suit Outfit if you’ve pre-ordered the game or are playing on Game Pass, and it appears as though what you wear may affect how others see you in the game.
All Preorder Bonuses: Preorder Guide
Indiana Jones isn’t complete without his classic whip. You can use the whip to solve puzzles, attack or disarm enemies, and traverse through the world.
You will also have access to a revolver and be able to pick up other items that you can use as weapons or tools.
You have access to a camera that you can use to take pictures of your surroundings. It can help you record clues and may also give you hints for puzzles.
Your journal will be filled with various records, photos, letters, maps, and more as you progress through the game. If you need any information from your journey so far, this is the best place to look.
