Fortnite Ballistic Patch Notes
At launch, Fortnite Ballistic will be available on all platforms and in all regions where Fortnite is supported, except for South Korea and Russia. It is currently unclear when the mode will become available in these countries.
Both Unranked and Ranked matches will be available from launch. Unranked offers a more casual Fortnite Ballistic experience if you’re just looking to have fun with friends or try out the mode at your own pace.
Ranked is for those who want to test their skills against other players in a more competitive environment. Leaving a Ranked match will result in a rank penalty and a temporary ban from joining another match.
Fortnite Ballistic will support existing Fortnite Skins, Back Blings, Kicks, Wraps, Sprays, and Emotes. However, Pickaxes, Contrails, Instruments, Vehicles, and Jam Tracks will not work in the mode.
Ballistic is Fortnite's first-ever round-based 5v5 first person game mode. If you have played games like Valorant or Counter-Strike 2, Fortnite Ballistic should feel familiar.
Players are divided into two teams: Attackers and Defenders. Attackers must plant a reality-tearing Rift Point Device at one of two sites on the map, while Defenders tries to stop the device from being planted and detonated.
Every Fortnite Ballistic match starts with players equipped with a Ranger Pistol and 800 Credits. Credits are earned from scoring eliminations and planting the Rift Point Device.
Use your Credits to purchase additional items and weapons at the start of each round to bolster your chances of victory.
The Rift Point Device takes 45 seconds to detonate after it’s planted. If it’s successfully defended, you’ll want to move a fair distance away or run the risk of being eliminated in the device’s blast radius. Getting eliminated by the blast means losing any gear you've acquired.
