Essential Tips for Starting Fortnite in 2024 |
---|
Enable Preferred Item Slots to auto-sort loot into designated slots, as this will automatically sort loot into the player's selected slot.
This will save time on inventory management and looting, ensuring you can quickly switch to your Shotgun in intense gunfights instead of accidentally pulling out Chug Splashes.

Everyone has a different preference on sensitivity, whether fast, slow, or somewhere in between.
Customize the settings to your liking, and try it out on a custom Aim Map or Sandbox mode before testing it in Battle Royale.
High-risk, high-reward drops, often larger POIs, offer abundant loot but attract many players, leading to intense early-game fights.
Large POIs are perfect for players seeking fast-paced action, improving close-range combat skills, and sharpening quick decision-making.
Low-risk, low-reward drops like smaller POIs or remote areas offer limited loot but are much safer. Be sure to still watch out for enemy gliders, as others may aim for the same drop!
Landing on smaller POIs are ideal for beginners and other players looking to avoid early fights, giving the squad more potential space to gather loot, and rotate to the zone in time.
To improve your odds, prioritize a long-range gun together with a close-range weapon, as well as movement items and shields when looting.
In Zero Build, barrier utility items such as the Port-A-Bunker and Shield Bubble Jr. will be highly valuable for players needing cover.

---|---|
Stay alert to the Storm Timer below the mini-map, and check the full map every now and then to see where the zone will shrink to, as well as how many players and squads remain.
Doing this will allow you to avoid taking storm damage and get in a good position earlier!
Prioritize taking advantageous positions in encounters, such as getting into a high-ground position, or pushing an outnumbered target with the team.
Be wary of the smaller details like cover, the storm, positioning, or any numbers advantages on hand to calculate the next best move.
