List of Traits: Unit Types Explained

How to Beat Heroic Hogger

Hogger is back with a new strike team! Achieve victory by using a Tanky Mini to hold off his attack, defending near the tower to utilize tower shots, managing gold to defend against an attack, and avoiding the the right lane by redirecting Minis.

  1. Hogger Has New Units
  2. Use a Tanky Mini to Hold off the Assault
  3. Defend Near the Tower
  4. Manage Gold to Defend Against an Attack
  5. Avoid the Right Lane

Hogger Has New Units

Instead of periodically spawning 2 Gnoll Brutes and a Darkspear Troll, Hogger will now push the right-lane with 2 Warsong Raiders and a Huntress to back them up.

The strategy from his normal encounter does not change significantly as the only changes present are the new units that push the right lane.

However, as these new units are tankier and deadlier, the Minis that are utilized will need to match the rising difficulty.

Use a Tanky Mini to Hold off the Assault

The new units mentioned before are significantly faster due to their quick movement speed, so the time they need to assault your base will be much quicker.

Tanky Minis like Abominations or Molten Giants are recommended to defend the left lane from the attack due to their large health pools.

Use them as a defensive frontline in conjunction with high damage options like S.A.F.E Pilot to take out the Huntress quickly and Flying Minis for a consistent source of damage against the melee units.

Defend Near the Tower

When Hogger's assault team runs down the left lane, it is recommended that you defend close to your towers so they can provide extra damage.

To do this, wait for the Raiders to reach tower range and drop your Tanky Mini right in front of them before they can reach the base. Then, provide extra Mini support as needed behind the Tanky Mini.

Manage Gold to Defend Against an Attack

Due to their quick movement speed, it is recommended that Hogger's assault team be kept in check at all times.

Spending gold quickly to launch an attack against Hogger may work if he can be taken out quickly, but to be on the safe side, save up on gold to summon a Tanky Mini in order to defend against his attack.

It is also recommended that you cycle through units in order to find your Tanky Mini from the deck to prepare for the attack.

Avoid the Right Lane

As with his normal fight, concentrating a push primarily on the left lane is still recommended as Murloc Tidehunters near Hogger will make short work of your right lane push.

This can be done by changing the direction of the Sigil (blue arrow) on the right lane towards the left lane to redirect Minis to the tower.

How to Beat Hogger

Defeat Hogger in Warcraft Rumble by using Flying Minis to take down the gnolls, avoiding enemies on the right lane, and capturing Hogger's tower.

  1. Use Flying Minis to Take Down the Gnolls
  2. Avoid Enemies on the Right Lane
  3. Capture Hogger's Guard Tower

Use Flying Minis to Take Down the Gnolls

Warcraft Rumble - Use Flying Minis to Take Down the Gnolls

You can handle the group of Gnolls by using Flying Minis, like Gryphon Rider or Rend Blackhand, since they can deal a lot of damage on them. Although, you may want to summon a Tank Mini alongside it such as Fire Elemental to stop them from moving forward, and to protect your Flying Minis from enemy ranged units.

List of Flying Minis

Avoid Enemies on the Right Lane

After defeating the initial wave of enemies, you can redirect your Minis to the left lane by clicking on the blue arrow on the ground. This is to avoid the Murloc Tidehunters on the right since they can respawn even after you beat them.

Capture Hogger's Guard Tower

Make sure to capture Hogger's Guard Tower on the left lane as well. You can do this by sending out strong ground units like Gnoll Brute and Darkspear Troll to control it.

Once you have captured it, you can start summoning your minis on it so that they can reach Hogger quicker and avoid enemies on the right lane. Minis spawned here will not be attacked by the enemies on the right lane, which lets you easily overwhelm Hogger.

Hogger Map Layout

1-5 Hogger Map.png

Elwynn Forest 1-5 has two lanes. On the left lane, you have an Enemy Tower. On the right, you have a Switch that can redirect your troops should you need to avoid the horde of Hoggers, Darkspear Troll and Murloc Tidehunters. It is recommended to take the Tower and be able to intercept troops spawned closer to Hogger.
