The Rend Blackhand Siege Deck Build is a PVE build that utilizes Flying and Unbound minis to quickly take over towers and push lanes towards the boss. Read on for the best leader and minis for this build, deck build traits, and how to play and strategies!
Rend Blackhand Siege Deck Build | |||
---|---|---|---|
Rend Blackhand | Harpies | Drake | Pyromancer |
Quilboar | Earth Elemental | Stonehoof Tauren |
This deck centers around placing Rend Blackhand early in the game to get reduced costs for your succeeding Flying Units. This build excels at taking over towers and clearing lanes to provide a safe path to the boss.
Keep in mind that placing Rend Blackhand very early makes this build slightly expensive to play due to your leader's 6 Gold Cost. Additionally, all of your units tend to move slow so it also requires strategic placement of Unbound minis like Quilboar and Earth Elemental to take over towers efficiently.
Mini | Traits |
---|---|
Rend Blackhand |
・AoE
・Dismounts ・Elemental ・Flying |
Harpies |
・Fast
・Flying ・Squad |
Drake |
・Elemental
・Flying ・Ranged |
Rend Blackhand is your main flying siege mini and is best deployed before other Flying minis so that flying units get a 1 Gold Cost Reduction when he's in play. This leader essentially has two lives, starting out as a tanky flying unit with an AOE attack and then becoming a single target tanky melee unit once it's dragon dies.
Harpies are your main squad units and is best deployed once the Earth Elemental or Stonehoof Tauren is burning the boss or tower. They are also a great defensive unit against melee units since they can easily overpower them.
Drake serves as this deck secondary flying siege unit. Though not as strong as Rend Blackhand's flying form, this mini has the same AOE fire breath attack and can easily clear groups of weak melee and opposing flying minis.
Mini | Traits |
---|---|
Quilboar |
・Cycle
・Melee ・One-Target ・Resistant ・Tank ・Unbound |
Earth Elemental |
・Armored
・One-Target ・Siege Damage ・Siege Specialist ・Tank ・Unbound |
Stonehoof Tauren |
・Charge
・Melee ・One-Target ・Tank |
Quilboar is a versatile Unbound mini that serves multiple roles in the team, able to grab faraway Treasure Chests or distract Towers and Bosses when placed near them.
Earth Elemental functions as one of your main siege units, and since it's Unbound, is always placed next to Towers and Bosses to help burn them down.
Stonehoof Tauren is your second tank and lane pusher, and is best placed in captured Meeting Stones, Towers, or near your base when you need to defend it.
Mini | Traits |
---|---|
Pyromancer |
・AoE
・Elemental ・Ranged |
Pyromancer is our only Ranged unit for this build. She has enough power to deal with both opposing Flying and Melee minis as long as it's placed behind your main tanks and Rend Blackhand.
Mini | Best Talent |
---|---|
Rend Blackhand | Scale and Steel Gain Resistant while flying and Armored while dismounted. |
Harpies | Infectious Swipes Gain Poison |
Drake | Mother Drake Periodically summon a Whelp Egg |
Scale and Steel is Rend Blackhand's best Talent, giving him the Armored Trait on both his forms, giving him more resistance to Ranged Attacks during his Flying Stage and can later tank Flying Attacks when he becomes a Melee Unit. This patches his main weakness, granting him great survivability and making him your primary siege unit/
Infectious Swipes grants your Harpies greater burn potential, allowing them to easily tear through Armored melee tanks and assist in overpowering towers and bosses.
Mother Drake causes a single Whelp Egg to spawn in the map whenever the Drake is on the field. This talent essentially grants you one extra mini when the Whelp hatches which can then help take out melee units advancing on your tower.
Mini | Best Talent |
---|---|
Quilboar | Tunnel Vision Deploy much more quickly |
Earth Elemental | Obsidian Shard On death, split into two smaller Earth Elementals |
Stonehoof Tauren | Momentum After connecting a charge, immediately charge a second time if possible. |
Tunnel Vision speeds up Quilboar's deployment time, allowing it to emerge faster to grab treasure chests or distract towers and bosses.
Obsidian Shard causes the Earth Elemental to split into two smaller but weaker shards, essentially giving it one last chance to burn down the tower or boss and making it a very efficient siege unit.
Mini | Best Talent |
---|---|
Pyromancer | Conflagrate Splash area is doubled |
Conflagrate increases the splash area of the Pyromancer's attacks, making her even more effective at dealing with squads.
Always send out Rend Blackhand before sending out any flying units to reduce their cost by 1 Gold. While an expensive play at the start, your leader is tanky enough to take on most minis and his slow movement speed means succeeding flying minis such as the Harpies can easily catch up to support him.
Once Rend reaches the tower, place an Earth Ellemental near it to act as a buffer against incoming melee or ranged units. Afterwards, it's just a matter of cycling through your other units and replacing Rend when he dies before sending out your Flying minis.
If there are treasure chests on the map, prioritize deploying a Quilboar to take it. The extra gold can go a long way in helping you place all your flying units after placing Rend at the very start of your push.
In cases where you can't immediately place Rend, we recommend pushing with Earth Elemental and Stonehoof Tauren first. These two units can capture towers on their own, giving you more room to place your Kobolds to reach faraway Gold Veins.
Pushing with your main tanks is also advantageous when the enemy starts sending out fast ranged units such as Huntress who can easily take out Rend and your other flyers.
With this strategy, your melee units will essentially act as a buffer that clears the way for Rend and your other flyers to reach the boss.
