Arclight Surge is a new repeating game mode that features two maps you've already defeated before that are now on Surge! The Surge lasts for three days and it moves to different zones twice a week.
One map will feature a modifier that alters how the game is played, while the other map will let you play using a pre-made army that's a combination of two families.
Maps that are brimming with Arclight energy pose new challenges for players. In this game mode, you can earn extra gold, get to know other families and Minis, as well as upgrade the troops in your currently equipped army.
Since an Arclight Surge happens on zones that you've already completed before, regular battles in these zones are postponed until the Arclight Surge has ended.
Zones that are affected by Arclight Surge glow blue on your World Map.
You can start completing an Arclight Surge by selecting a zone that's surrounded by a blue glow and selecting a map in it that you want to clear.
Battles in Arclight Surge don't play by the rules.
While regular battles only allow one leader per army, one Arclight Surge zone allows you to have two leaders at the same time. Each battle comes with a different set of pre-made armies that are a combination of the two different families indicated on the map.
These pre-made armies replace your current army and it's a great way to get to know other Minis that you don't usually use!
Each family and leader have different playstyles as well. Playing Arclight Surge can help you understand how they're used in the battlefield, thus giving you an idea how to launch a counter attack when pitted against them.
In another Arclight Surge zone, you'll be introduced to various map-wide modifiers that alters how the game will be played out. You need to adapt your strategy to these modifiers quickly to gain the upperhand in battle.
Here are the various modifiers you can encounter in Arclight Surge.
Arclight Surges move to different zones twice a week. They happen to two different maps that you have already completed before and they move to a different zone every Sunday and Thursday.
These Surges will last for three days until they have to move to another zone again. You can see how many days and hours are left for you to play Arclight Surge on a certain zone by looking at the icon
Why should you play Arclight Surge? Well, it rewards players with a couple of important resources!
Arclight Surge serves as another source of Gold in Warcraft Rumble. For every Arclight Surge map that you complete, you'll get 40 Gold!
Gold is a very important resource the game that lets you build your army and make them stronger. Having another Gold source apart from conventional battles in PvE and PvP helps you get more of this resource.
Aside from Gold, you will also get XP for your Minis after finishing a map on Arclight Surge.
For every map that you finish, a random Mini from your currently equipped army will receive XP. Grinding for XPs for your Minis helps them level up, and make them stronger and last longer in the battlefield.
You don't wanna miss out on Arclight Surges if you're part of a guild.
Every map that you clear in Arclight Surge contributes to the points for the War Chest. Since every zone has 5 maps, you can contribute a total of 500 points towards the War Chest.
Don't forget to do Arclight Surges whenever they refresh to do your part in getting the War Chest for everyone in the guild.
