This deck plays to Baron Rivendare's strengths by enhancing the overall swarm potential of the build while picking tanky minis to push against other high-cost minis.

While this deck will work against most melee-centered decks, it has a weakness against Rend Blackhand decks, since both Rend and Drakes can clear swarms efficiently.

Warcraft Rumble - Skeletons Mini Skeletons Cycle

Abomination takes the role of our front wall. Coupled with the Noxious Presence talent, this mini can effectively deal with Squads on its own.

Skeletons have two roles in this deck; to take chests at the start of the game, and to help swarm the enemy with Exhume. Drop them near your captured structures to further amplify the swarm.

Quilboars are our emergency tanks. We find that the greatest use of Quilboars is to draw aggression by dropping them behind key targets such as Towers and ranged units. Additionally, these can also be deployed to take chests.

Ranged Minis

Mini Traits
Warcraft Rumble - Necromancer Mini Necromancer Elemental
One-Target
Ranged
Summoner

Necromancers are powerful ranged minis that are almost self sufficient because of its ability to summon skeletons as long as the Necromancer is alive.

This means that it can draw the hook from enemy Abominations, and deal with Flying squads such as Harpies or Whelp Eggs as long as it has the Jeweled Skulls talent equipped.

Flying Minis

Mini Traits
Warcraft Rumble - Harpies Mini Harpies Fast

Warcraft Rumble - Gargoyle Mini Gargoyle Armored

Siege Damage
Tank

Harpies are a very cheap answer vs. most melee units in the game since they can deal a lot of damage fairly quickly. We've opted to go for Trinket Collectors so that we can use these Harpies to gain the gold advantage.

This means that enemies using Dark Iron Miner will often lose out on gold nodes since Harpies travel faster and can very quickly dispatch both Dark Iron Miner and enemy Kobold Miners.

The Gargoyle is included as our siege unit. This powerful flying mini punishes unattentive opponents by taking the side tower or even the main base if left undefended. Its one major flaw is the slow movement speed that it comes with, hence we've decided on using Wing Buffet to help us sneak objectives more reliably.

How to Play Baron Rivendare Skeletal Swarm

Always Play for Economy

Take chests and gold nodes aggressively with Harpies, Skeletons, or Baron Rivendare. Since we run fairly high cost minis, successfully taking objectives allows us to play our expensive minis.

Securing resources quickly also helps us create bigger waves of minis, as the opponent will not have enough gold to summon defenders.

How to Use Skeletons

Skeletons are a fantastic multi-purpose tool that can really cripple the opponent when used properly. Let's take a look at how to use them properly below.

Create Bigger Pushes

We'll be using the Exhume talent in our deck, so when you feel like you want to create a big push and the enemy has no Blizzard or AoE spell equipped to stop it, then drop some Skeletons near any friendly towers to spawn extra Skeletons.

Assassinate Backline Targets

Opponents will typically spawn melee minis first with a ranged mini behind it. Drop Skeletons behind the ranged mini or the backline healer to stop the push and leave the enemy frontline minis surrounded.

Deal Direct Damage to Bases

If you have minis that are about to enter the enemy tower's range, drop Skeletons in the opposite back corners of the tower to divert the tower fire to the Skeletons. This allows your arriving minis to deal even more damage as they will last longer and hit the tower more.

Alternatively, you could drop the Skeletons in the back corners after your initial minis are already being attacked, allowing the Skeletons to be the ones dealing damage to the tower.

Split Push When Viable

Split push the enemy by dropping a Necromancer on one side of the map and a Gargoyle on the other. Opponents tend to disregard their side lanes, allowing the Gargoyle to sneak in and quickly take the tower.

Remember that Baron Rivendare summons Skeletons from all friendly structures, including captured towers, so taking the side tower has slightly more value for us than it does for other leaders.

Commit to Shortest Lane If Unviable

If one lane already has anti-air minis pushing it, consider dropping an Abomination and a Necromancer on the shortest lane instead. This creates a push that the enemy needs to answer.

Once the enemy commits minis to defend against the Abomination and Necromancer, drop a Gargoyle on the opposite lane if it is clear to take the tower.
