Story Mode chapters are Main Story and Side chapter quests directly based on the events of the webtoon. Progressing the storyline here will unlock other functions and game modes in Solo Leveling Arise.
The Hunter Archive missions follow the background stories of specific Hunter characters and can consist of Story and Battle Stages, with a x50 Essence Stone reward per Stage completed. Hunter Archive stories are unlocked as Sung Jinwoo levels up or completes Main Story chapters.
Each stage in a Hunter Archive costs one Hunter Archive Key. Players can only hold three Hunter Archive Keys at a time, and must wait to earn a key once per day.
Gates are the main daily dungeons, of varying difficulties, for grinding character growth materials, including Mana Crystals that can be used to exchange for resources such as Weapon Enhancement Gear and Artifact Enhancement Chips, or Keys for other game modes. You unlock this mode once you finish Sung Jinwoo's Assassin Job Change Quest.
Upon clearing Chapter 9, you can do 1v1 rematches as Sung Jinwoo against bosses encountered during the Main Story Chapters. You can progressively unlock higher Tiers per Instance Dungeon, up to difficulty 8, for harder fights and higher-rarity rewards. Keep the Battle Missions in mind as well to earn bonus rewards.
Instance Dungeon Keys are consumed each time you enter battle during an Encore Mission. You hold up to three Instance Dungeon Keys at a time, and can either be replenished for free every day or purchased in the Store. If you increase the amount of Keys spent to enter a dungeon, you can also increase the clear rewards for that one attempt.
After clearing Chapter 5, you will unlock Encore Missions that allow you to fight certain bosses you encountered during Side Chapters using only Hunters, with the Main Rewards being Artifacts and material items. You can progressively unlock higher Tiers per Encore Mission for harder fights and higher-rarity Artifacts.
Encore Mission Keys are consumed each time you enter battle during an Encore Mission. You hold up to three Encore Mission Keys at a time, and can either be replenished for free every day or purchased in the Store. Like with Instance Dungeons, you can also increase the clear rewards per attempt by spending more Keys per Encore Mission.
After clearing Chapter 7 Stage 4, you gain access to the Battlefield of Trials, a challenge mode where you clear and progress through individual battlefields while adhering to unique Team Formation Requirements and optional Battle Missions for additional rewards.
During Battlefield of Trials, you can freely alternate in the menu between Player Mode, which allows you to have Sung Jinwoo your team, and Hunter Mode, which only allows you to use Hunters in your roster.
After clearing Chapter 10, you unlock the Battlefield of Time, a seasonal competitive game mode where you must defeat a boss and other enemies as quickly as possible.
The Battlefield of Time follows a rotational challenge period that consists of a Practice Period, a Regular Period, a Calculation Period to check rankings and rewards you qualified for, and the After Calculations, period which is when you can actually claim your rewards. You automatically earn all the top Achievement Rewards if you clear a stage within 1 minute and 30 seconds.
The Battlefield of Time has its own Challenge Mode wherein you are restricted to Hunter Mode, and must continuously defeat bosses that gradually rise in level per stage, all while adhering to the Rules of the Week. Each stage has different rewards per clear condition, and your rank and rewards will be calculated by totaling your clear time per stage, with the rewards to be sent after the event period ends.
You obtain separate rewards depending on two types of ranking. The first is your Overall Rank, which is your rank on the server, and your Division Rank, which is your ranking within your assigned set of 100 people.
After clearing Chapter 14, you unlock the Power of Destruction seasonal competitive mode, where your objective is to survive as long as possible and deal as much damage as possible in the alloted time against Pitch-black Flame Ennio. At the end of battle, you are asked whether to record your performance for ranking purposes. You can only have your performance recorded once, so try out all your optimized teams and record the one that performs the best.
Your survival time and damage inflicted determine your record during a single season, and that record affects how much Ennio's difficulty will increase for you in the following season. The difficulty will never decrease, but as it increases, you will be able to form more teams for more chances to set records.
Each team that you form can be composed of Hunters and Shadows. Also, you can select a buff card that will help you fight against Pitch-black Flame Ennio.
The Power of Destruction Mode follows the same Ranking system as Battlefield of Time, with an Overall Rank that determines rewards based on your server rank and a Division Rank that determines rewards based on rank within a 100-player division. Achievement Rewards are also still available in this game mode for fulfilling specific conditions.
After clearing Chapter 15, you will gain access to the Battlefield of Chaos mode, a daily refresh mode where you must clear waves of enemies through a set number of battlefield zones that increase in difficulty. Each battlefield and tier has different team formation requirements and recommended elements.
The main reward for this game mode is gems, which can be claimed up to three times per day. The battlefield and available rewards refresh every day.
Introduced in Update Version 1.1.26, Workshop of Brilliant Light is a rogue-like raid dungeon where you must clear a series of stages before defeating the final boss. You will need Raid Tickets to enter of which you will receive 3 every week. The mode is one of the ways to farm the new 8-Set Piece Artifacts.
