Rend Blackhand works fantastically well in this stage since he counters the Gilnean stage gimmick and the Footmen that frequently spawn in this level.

The same can be said for the Drake and the Whelp Eggs, which also work in concert with Rend Blackhand.

Harpies and Quilboars are cost-effective minis that do a solid job when defending your base.

S.A.F.E. Pilot is included for emergency wave clears, while the Stonehoof Tauren is our answer to any ranged units that threaten our Flying team comp.

Gilneans and the Day-Night Cycle

Day Time

Night Time

The stage gimmick for this level are the Gilneans that frequently spawn from enemy towers.

These Gilneans are a set of 3 units that march down lanes. During the Day, they remain in their human forms, acting as little more than fodder or meat shields.

At night, these Gilneans transform into Worgens, melee units with quick attack speed.

To counter the stage gimmick, we've selected Flying units. Particularly, Rend Blackhand, Drakes, and Whelp Eggs for their Flying traits and AoE attacks.

Tower Priority

The First Tower (Right Lane)

The nearby tower on the right side is the very first tower you will fight to take. This relieves pressure from your base since Gilneans and other units won't spawn so close to your base.

Additionally, you will want to deploy your Kobolds from this tower since it is the one closest to the left gold node.

Make sure that you drop your Kobold as far left as possible so that it goes for the left node instead of walking upwards towards the other node.

The Second Tower (Left Lane)

The most impactful tower for this stage is the lone tower on the left because it can potentially guard both the left and the right lane. Also, it is positioned quite close to the Son of Arugal, making it a good deployment point for your minis if you are struggling to capture the last tower on the right.

Focus on taking this tower once you've captured the first tower on the right.

The Third Tower (Far Right Lane)

This is the most difficult tower to take and can be ignored if you are deploying minis from the left tower. However, if you can manage to take it, it is the best tower to deploy units from as it is the closest to the son of Arugal.
