| 1 | From Lindblum, sail northward to enter the Outer Continent. |
| 2 | Dock at a shore then head to the Black Mage Village. |
| 3 | Head to the Black Mage Village's graveyard. |
| 4 | After the scene, head to the Chocobo hut. |
| 5 | Exit the Black Mage Village and head back to the ship. |
| 6 | Sail to the northeastern part of the continent. |
| 7 | You will find four patches of quicksand. Enter the quicksand on the northern side to enter the Desert Palace. |
| 8 | When prompted, say “I have no choice”. |
| 9 | Follow Kuja's commands. Head forward then stand between the two Black Mages. |
| 10 | After getting teleported out, climb the stairs and follow the road. |
| 11 | Board the Hilde Garde 1. |
| 12 | After landing, buy all the supplies you need, then head south. |
