This is the Story Walkthrough for Burmecia (Disc 1) from Final Fantasy IX (FFIX, FF9). Read on for more information about objectives and bosses within this section.

Burmecia - Objectives

Objectives
1 From your current position, head north to reach Burmecia.
2 Proceed inside Burmecia until Zorn and Thorn confront you with their Black Mages.
3 Head to the room located on the right side by climbing the stairs.
4 Climb up then head left.
5 Ignore the door and keep heading left.
6 Approach the chest while walking, once the item is obtained, run to make the platform fall.
7 Return all the way back to where you fought the black mages then head to the room to the left.
8 Head to the area that opened up with the fallen platform.
9 Keep going until an option to head out the balcony appears. Do so.
10 Talk to the dying soldier then examin the bed from the north side.
11 Head back to the door you ignored earlier then use the bell to open it.
Optional Climb the stairs then head to the room in front of you.
12 After climbing the stairs, head to the room on the upper left area.
13 Head inside the door. After reaching the square, head inside both the ruined houses in the area.
14 After exploring the area, climb up the head and prepare for a boss battle.

Burmecia - Items and Equipment Items and Equipment

Item Quantity Location
Hi-Potion x1 Acquired from the chest on the left side of the gate.
Tent x1 Open the chest on the right side of the gate.
Cancer x1 Search the overturned cart.
Soft x1 Located at the base of the staircase.
Germinas Boots x1 Get it by walking to the left, passing by a sealed door.
Potion x1 Acquired by entering the door to your left.
Soft x1 Acquired by entering the door to your left then go right.
Ether x1 Inspect the round dresser.
Protection Bell x1 Found under the furthest bed after speaking to a Burmecian soldier.
Phoenix Down & Tent x1 Acquire by ascending the right staircase, outside the house.
Kupo Nut x1 Received by giving Mogki's letter to Atla.
Lightning Staff x1 Look for it behind Atla.
Mythril Spear x1 Located in the room on your left.

Cancer

Upon entering Burmecia, inspect the overtuned cart to obtain Cancer.

Germinas Boots

Ascend the stairs to an abandoned house and keep heading left, passing by a sealed door, to acquire the equipment.

Protection Bell

Go out to the balcony and enter the other room, where a Bulmecian soldier lies. Search the farthest bed to pick up the Protection Bell.

Lightning Staff

Before challenging the boss to battle, enter the room to your right. Get the Lightning Staff behind Atla.

Mythril Spear

Before challenging the boss, enter the room to your left. Inspect the area to acquire a Mythril Spear.
