This is how to use the Soft Lock and Hard Lock (Target Assist) feature in Armored Core 6 (AC6).
List of Contents
In Armored Core 6, the "soft lock" feature kicks in automatically when you bring the enemy into your line of sight and get within a certain distance.
The soft lock-on disengages when the enemy goes out of sight. Therefore, it's essential to keep moving the right stick for camera control constantly.
Using R3 triggers "target assist," or Hard Lock. This brings the targeted enemy to the center of the screen, making it easier to keep track of them in one-on-one battles. This is very useful in both arena matches and boss fights.
While target assist is activated, a white border appears around the circle surrounding the enemy.
You can release the lock-on by unlocking Manual Aim through OS tuning. After unlocking Manual Aim, you can toggle Hard Locking ON/OFF by long-pressing R3.
