Build a Campfire

Building Campfire

To cook, start by building a campfire from the build menu. This unlocks early in the game, whether or not you go through the tutorial.

Build a Cooking Pot

Alternatively, if you have access to the cooking pot, you can build that as well. Food cooked here requires harder-to-get ingredients, but you'll get extra bonuses for cooking and consuming dishes made with the pot.

Gather Ingredients

Level Up Cooking

Make sure to gather as many ingredients as you can to cook food. If you need a list of all the dishes you can make, check out the link below.

Ingredients can be found all over the map. Most vegetables like cabbage and potatoes can be foraged easily, but for meat, you’ll need to hunt first!

Wait for the Food to Cook

Once you have all the ingredients for the dish you want to cook, start cooking and wait for it to finish. You'll then find the cooked dish in your inventory.

How to Level Up Cooking Fast

How to Use Cooked Food

Press the Assigned Key to Eat Cooked Food

Cooked Food

If you're ready to fill up your hunger bar, simply check your quick inventory at the top-left of the screen to find your cooked dish. Press the button assigned on the cooked food to consume it!

If your cooked food is inside the inventory, hover over it and right-click to consume it.
