Talk to Doric in Fractured Plains

Granite Mauled starting location

Granite Mauled is started by talking to Doric at his camp on Fractured Plains. His camp is on an overlook south of Ashien's Watch—the fortress on the northeast corner of the region.

Investigate the Secrets Hidden Below Ashien's Watch

Doric will ask you to check out what the dragonkin might have hidden beneath Ashien's Watch. These items are hidden inside a sealed vault, which can only be unlocked by activating four special statues outside.

Go down to Ashien's Watch and deal with the garou guarding the entrance while looking for the statues.

The first statue is located right after infiltrating the fortress. Look for stairs on your right and you will also find the first statue at the top.

Drop down the platform and head north. The second statue is next to one of the pillars.

Walk east from the second statue to find a ramp. The third statue is near some wooden boxes.

Head southeast and, before you go up the slope where the vault entrance is, turn to your right to find the last statue.

Find the Treasure Inside the Vault

Now that the door is unlocked, you'll need to raid the vault and find another statue at the end. Like many vaults, it is also filled with traps, vault guardians, and other enemies, so be sure to prepare a lot of healing potions, arrows, and a powerful blunt weapon before going in.

Go down the slope with the balloon traps and turn left. Make sure to pop them with ranged attacks first before passing through.

Ignore the blocked path on your right and enter the door on your left instead, then turn right on the corridor.

Keep moving through rooms until you end up in a semi-flooded area. North of this room is a larger area with more balloons and vault guardians. Go up the ramp along the north wall where multiple guardians are waiting.

Head west then turn left to find a lever. Pulling it will open the room to the vault bosses.

After defeating the bosses, interact with the statue to obtain a blueprint written in dwarvish.

Bring the Blueprint to Doric

completing Granite Mauled

Exit the vault when you're done looting and go back to Doric with the blueprint. In addition to translating the weapon recipe for Granite Maul, he will also give you an Imbued Granite Maul Head to craft it!
