Add to Watchlist

Day-Night Cycle Explained

You can check the time of day in RuneScape Dragonwilds by checking the position of the sun in the sky. Learn how to check the time of day and more in this guide.

Day-Night Cycle Length

Day-Night Cycle is Around 20-30 Minutes Long

Day-Night Cycle

The day-night cycle in the game lasts around 20 to 30 minutes long based on our in-game testing. There is currently no UI that indicates the game's day-night cycle, though it's possible that this will be added in a later date.

How to Check Time of Day

Check the Position of the Sun

Time of Day
Sunrise Morning
Sunset Evening

Currently, the only way to tell if it's day or night in the game is by looking at the position of the sun in the sky.

During sunrise, the sky has a dim glow and you will see the sun rising over the horizon. During morning, the sun hangs above the center of the sky and the world has a very vibrant color.

During sunset, the sun will start to disappear below the horizon. The sun then vanishes during the evening, instead replaced by the moon.

Yellow Sun Bar is a Well Rested Buff

The small progress bar that appears above your thirst, hunger, and rest meters is a well-rested buff and not an indicator of how long the day is. It only appears after resting at night and vanishes after a few minutes.

Is There a Way to Change the Time of Day?

Currently No Way to Change the Time of Day

Evening
There is currently no way to manually change the time of day in RuneScape Dragonwilds aside from sleeping in bed at night which fastforwards the time to morning.

There is also currently no settings to toggle or customize how long the day or night is in the game, though it's possible that this will be implemented in a future update.
