Interact with the Dragonkin Effigies in the Garou Camp

You'll need to interact with four Dragonkin Effigies in the Garou Camp near the Ashien's Watch ruins to access the vault.

Once all effigies are activated, the vault's seal will break and you can now enter the vault.

The first effigy is located in a large ruin next to a tower-like structure. The second is on the western side fo the ruins on the ground and close to another tower.

The third effigy is in a small alcove up some wooden stairs, while the fourth effigy is located close to the vault's entrance next to a tree.

Shoot the Plants to Clear a Path

Shoot the Plants to Clear a Path

Head inside the vault and shoot the plants to clear a path to the next area. These puffballs explode when you're close and can inflict poison, so it's best to shoot at them from afar with a bow or magic.

Clear the plants as you make your way through the area until you reach a small corridor leading to the next area.

Clear the Corridor of Enemies

Clear the Corridor of Enemies

Head left from the corridor to reach a larger passageway with some Putrid Rats and a Vault Guardian Hulk. Prioritize shooting the hulk from range and switch to your melee weapon and shield when attacking the putrid rats.

Follow the path and you'll reach a small clearing with more putrid rats and puffballs. Defeat the enemies and then shoot the puffballs so you can safely loot the Vault Core on the pedestal.

Defeat the Vault Guardians

Head left from the Vault Core and you'll end up in a larger passageway filled with patrolling Vault Guardians and puffballs. Stay in ranged as it's possible to get pushed by the guardians into the exploding puffballs.

This area is fairly large and you have enough room to kite the vault guardians if they decide to give chase. Additionally, the enemies may get stuck in the terrain giving you an opening to rush them with melee attacks.

Defeat the remaining guardians and head into the next passageway.

Use Windstep to Reach the Vault Core

There is a Vault Core in a hidden alcove in this area that you can reach using the Windstep spell.

There's a treasure chest in this area as well, but you'll need to shoot at the puffball to safely loot it.

Pull the Lever to Open the Boss Room

Pull the Lever to Open the Boss Room

Drop down from the alcove and pull the lever to open the locked gates. This also opens a previously sealed boss room on the north that you'lll need to hop across to using the Windstep spell.

The boss room contains a Vault Guardian Overlord, a putrid rat, and a Vault Guardian Sentinel. You can snipe the Overloard from afar and deal significant damage to it before it rushes towards you.

Once all enemies are defeated, make your way to the inner area and loot the Vault Core from the pedestal.

Interact with the Dragonkin Effigy to receive the blueprint to craft the Granite Maul Masterwork Weapon. The blueprint however is written in dwarvish and you'll need to bring it to someone who can translate it.

At Least Two Vault Cores

Fractured Plains Vault Cores

The Northeast Fractured Plains Vault houses at least two Vault Cores. You can use these to build a Smithing Anvil or to craft Masterwork Weapons.

Granite Maul Blueprint

Interact with the Dragonkin Effigy

The vault's boss room imparts the blueprints to craft the Granite Maul Masterwork Weapon, though you'll need to bring the plans to Doric first so you can craft it.

North Fractured Plains Vault

The Northeast Fractured Plains Vault is an unmarked vault located on the north eastern part of Fractured Plains. Access to the vault requires interacting with the four Dragonkin Effigies in the nearby Garou camp.

There are poisonous puffballs located inside the vault which can explode into a poisonous mist when you get too close. Although you can shoot these from range, it's still a good idea to bring a few Weak Antipoison Potions just in case you get hit.

We also recommend bringing a healthy supply of healing potions, as well as food and clean water before venturing in.
