Make a Ton of Clean Water

Create Clean Water
Unlike most other cooking recipes, making Clean Water is extremely easy since gathering Dirty Water can be done very quickly. This makes it the recommended item to make when levelling up this skill, especially since you can put dedicated EXP farming Campfires next to a body of water.

As a note, make sure that you pick up the Clean Water once it's done cooking, otherwise, you won't get any Cooking EXP.

Create Multiple Campfires

Cooking Setup
Since you can only cook a stack of 50 Dirty Waters at a time, it's recommended to create multiple Campfires so you can have multiple stacks cooking at once. Just make sure that you also gather enough fuel to supply a multi-campfire setup.

Sleep to Skip the Wait Time

Sleep to Skip Cooking Time
If you don't want to wait for the Campfires to produce the Clean Water, you can always cook before sleeping. This will skip the cooking time when you go to sleep and you can easily pick up the water once you wake up the next day.

Passive 		Multiple Gained every level where there's no other major unlock.
Fancy Cookware
Crafting Recipe 		11 Unlocks the furniture piece Pan Rack in the building menu.
Internal Alchemy
Spell 		20 Resets any active Food and Drink buffs with a spectacular display of culinary appreciation.
Bones to Peaches
Spell 		27 Transmute unwanted bones on the ground into fresh Peaches for your consumption. Inhumane? Yes... but delicious!
Yes, Chef!
Crafting Recipe 		40 Unlocks recipe for Chef's Hat, craftable at the Crafting Station.
