North Temple Woods Vault Guide
The North Temple Woods Vault is a vault located in the northern part of Temple Woods close to the Runecrafting Guild in Runescape Dragonwilds. Check out our full walkthrough of the vault and rewards, where to find the password, and more!

Pass Through the First Trap
Once you enter the vault press forward from the large central room and head into the hallway with a fire dart trap. Pay attention to the pattern on when the darts shoot out and run towards the next room when it's safe.
Note: Due to how dark the vaults are, we recommend casting Fire Spirit so that you don't need to swap between your weapon and torch.
Use Windstep to Avoid the Traps
You'll reach a large room where the lower path has a floor trap and fire darts. You can avoid these traps by using Windstep to jump to the upper section of the room. Head north from to reach the next room.
Note: There is a small cave to the left of the top floor where you can grab a chest at the end guarded by two rats.
Defeat the Vault Guardian
The next room has a patrolling Vault Guardian that you'll need to defeat to pass through safely. You can attempt to lure it to the previous room where it may often run towards the trap and kill itself.
Once the room is clear of enemies, grab the Vault Core from the pedestal in the central area of the room and head to the next area.
Clear the Room
You'll reach a large cave area with a couple of rats roaming around the basin. We recommend attacking these enemies from range to avoid getting overwhelmed. Make your way up the stairs and prepare for a fight in the next area.
Note: There's a hidden area here where you can find the password for the Highlighting the Problem side quest to unlock the crafting recipe for the Staff of Light.
Defeat the Vault Guardians
The next room has a total of 4 Vault Guardians that you'll need to dispatch. There are three Vault Guardian Hulks who will chase after you and use powerful melee attacks, and a patrolling Vault Guardian Sentinel who will use a powerful AOE ranged attack that can stun you.
Defeat the Next Set of Vault Guardians
Navigate through the hallway and pass another dart trap to reach a smaller room with two Vault Guardian Hulks and a Vault Guardian Sentinel. Engaging these enemies is more difficult due to the trapped corridor leading to the room.
Similar to the previous room, try and bait the Vault Guardian Hulks through the trapped corridor and kite them from a distance before engaging the Vault Guardian Sentinel.
Head Right to Find a Vault Core
From this area there are multiple passageways that you can take. Before making your way to the main hallway, turn right and head through the corridors with fire traps until you reach a large room with many floor traps.
Defeat the Giant Rat in this room and grab the Vault Core close to the Dragonkin Effigy. Pull the lever in this room so you can return to he main room where you fought the Vault Guardians.
Pass Through the Last Trapped Corridor
Head north from the main room where you fought the Vault Guardians until you reach a trapped corridor that has both floor traps and dart traps on the walls. There's a safe spot in the middle and you can also use Windstep to do a running jump to reach the end. Otherwise, you'll need to pay close attention to the pattern of both traps to avoid getting killed.
Once you reach the end, kill the giant rat guarding the room and pull the lever to open the Vault's boss room.
Defeat the Vault Archon
Make your way to the now open boss room that has two Giant Rats and a powerful Vault Archon. We recommend killing the rats first before engaging the Archon as they can stunlock you quickly.
The Vault Archon is a stronger sentinel that primarily fights with ranged attacks and will actually flee from you if you get too close. This makes it more susceptible to melee attacks and it's possible to stunlock it before it can attack if you keep up the pressure.
Once the boss is defeated, grab the Vault Core from the pedestal in the middle of the room and loot the treasure chest.
Where to Find the Password
Use Windstep to Reach a Hidden Alcove
In the first room with the giant rats, climb up on one of the broken pillars on the floor and use Windstep to reach a hidden alcove above.
Interact with the Dragonkin Statue
Interact with the Dragonkin Statue who will provide you with the password - Pthentorok. This wil also start the Highlighting the Problem side quest.
Exit the vault and make your way to the ruins of the Runecrafting Guild and interact with the statue to continue the quest.
North Temple Woods Rewards
3 Vault Cores
You can loot 3 Vault Cores from the North Temple Woods Vault. These rare materials are used to create advanced crafting stations such as the Smithing Anvil, as well as powerful Masterwork Weapons such as the Abyssal Whip, Crystal Bow, Staff of Light, and the Anti-Dragon Shield.
Password for Highlighting the Problem
The North Temple Woods Vault is where you can find the password for the Highlighting the Problem side quest which unlocks the the Staff of Light, a Masterwork weapon that's currently the strongest magic weapon in the game.

North Temple Woods Vault Location
The North Temple Woods Vault is large vault located in the northern part of Temple Woods. To access it, you'll need to head into the lower path to reach a cliff and use the Windstep magic to reach the area where the vault is located.

The North Temple Woods Vault has a lot of traps and Vault Guardians that can deal a lot of damage. We recommend bringing a healthy supply of healing potions, as well as food and clean water before venturing in.
