What to Do First After You Die
Head to Your Death Point
The first thing to do after dying is to collect all the items you dropped. The only way to do this, however, is to make your way back to where you died!
Follow the Death Icon
In case you don’t know where you last died, you can follow the tracker at the top of the map. Just follow the death icon and it should lead you straight to your tombstone.
Craft a Bow
In case you’re traveling far, make sure to craft a weapon to fend off enemies along the way. You can craft a bow using just wood and flax, then carry it as you head back to your death point. Use it to defend yourself or pick off enemies from a distance!
Interact with the Tomb to Collect Items
Once you’re at the location, interact with the tombstone to get all your lost items back!
Make sure to free up some space before collecting everything, just in case you picked up other items along the way. If your inventory’s full, you can also build a crate to store the extra items!
How to Easily Collect Items After You Die
Build and Claim a Bed
If you want to respawn closer after dying, make sure to craft a bed at any nearby settlement. Claim it, and you’ll respawn there the next time you die. Just make sure it’s placed under a roof, since beds placed outside won’t work.
