How to Level Up Runecrafting

Mine a Ton of Rune Essence First

Mine Rune Essence
While the best way to level up this skill is by crafting Runes, you will need to mine Rune Essence first to both unlock the Rune Altar and get the Rune Essence resource. As a bonus, this will also level up the Mining skill as well.

As a note, using the Rocksplosion spell from the Mining skill works on Rune Essences, making farming it a lot easier once you have it.

Use the Rune Essence to Craft Runes

Craft Runes
Once you've gathered a ton of Rune Essence, you can go to a Rune Altar and craft Runes in bulk. Doing this doesn't take long, so it's recommended to craft as many as possible to maximize the amount of EXP that you will get.

Just remember that you should craft the Runes that you'll need for casting spells rather than making multiple of the same Rune just for EXP.

Earth Runes
Crafting Recipe 		11 Unlocks recipe for Earth Runes, craftable at the Rune Altar.
Fire Runes
Crafting Recipe 		13 Unlocks recipe for Fire Runes, craftable at the Rune Altar.
Law Runes
Crafting Recipe 		16 Unlocks recipe for Law Runes, craftable at the Rune Altar.
Natuer Runes
Crafting Recipe 		18 Unlocks recipe for Nature Runes, craftable at the Rune Altar.
Fire Spirit
Spell 		20 Conjure forth a fire spirit to light your way.
Essential Strength
Passive 		27 The weight of rune essence is reduced by 50%
