Material Collector is a limited-time gadget that has its main use in the Core of the Apparatus! You can get this after talking to Bertrand when you start the A-Toymaking We Shall Go quest chain in the event!

The Material Collector Gadget will expire as the event ends on July 11, 2022. So, create all the robots and claim vouchers while the event is still live!
The material collector collects materials to create toy robots you can put in the Serenitea Pot. The materials you collect will have three steps to it:

During the Source Material Collection part of the Core of the Apparatus event, players need to equip the Material Collector gadget and collect items such as ores, flowers, and fruits.

For the second process, you'll have to apply elements to yourself to charge it up to 100%. Only Pyro, Hydro, and Electro are affected by it, and the resulting voucher depends on the specific element you applied!
For the last process, you have to defeat specific enemies to obtain portions of the propultion. Again, the type of enemy you defeat matters to get a specific robot type!

Hydro |
◆ Barbara's Elemental Skill. ◆ Hydro Enemies like Slimes, Specters, and more! ◆ Standing on Large Bodies of Water like Lakes, Shores, Waterfalls and more. ◆ Rain in the Open World. |
Pyro |
◆ Standing on Top or near Torches. ◆ Going too near a Random Cooking Pot in the Open World. ◆ Bennett's Elemental Burst ◆ Standing on a Burnishing Grass ◆ Pyro Enemies like Slimes, Specters, and more! ◆ Standing near a Flaming Flower. |
Electro |
◆ Standing near Electro Crystals. ◆ Use Beidou's Elemental Skill repeatedly! ◆ Use an Electrograna. ◆ Use the Thunderwoods near Tatarasuna! ◆ Fight Electro Enemies like Slimes or Whopperflowers or Specters, and more! |
If you want to increase your chances of getting either the Traveling Horned Owl or Traveling Triped, it's best to mix two or all three elements for the elemental charge.
For example, you can use Beidou's Elemental Skill once then head use Bennett's skill to set grass on fire, then immediately head to a body of water before Material Collector Counts everything as 15 seconds!

Like with the elements and collected materials, you can have two or more enemies as sources of Core Activation! You always need to defeat either a slime or a specter first and put the bosses last.
The bosses will fill the core up immediately, so it's best to put them last. You also need to be careful not to defeat too many specters or slimes in the process, the meter doesn't fill up too fast!
