LSigurd could be used with NY's Dagr's Pathfinder and a lead unit to attack and retreat behind a tank, or alternatively could focus on wall-breaking offensive skills as a devastating first strike without canto, and since team range would boost afterwards, even if his hp hits 0, followed up by attacks from other cavalry units suddenly able to strike due to the team movement boost. Given how battles are often decided by who strikes first and hardest, I think he is ideal for a blitzkrieg approach.
I think Legendary Sigurd if given A/D Near Trace 3 could be a 9.9 rating. He can canto back 3 spaces due to his special improving team mobility 1 after combat. His special improves team attack after combat also and during combat his damage while his weapon reduces first attack damage 40% and ensures his follow-up attack. This allows for a distance assault and retreat while setting up a wave of following attacks from allies now able to move an additional space.
We generally don't like Astra because attacking a tank with color disadvantage even with Astra up won't do much. Dealing single digit points of damage normally will result in a maximum of 45 damage (if a normal attack does 9) at most. Bonfire and Ignis are consistent sources of damage since they're based on Hector's defense, which he has a lot of. They're generally better options.
So I think he is getting 3-4 charges per combat. I will need to observe his cooldown to see whether Bonfire or Astra is the best fit. Obviously I'd prefer Astra if he is getting enough charges for it.
In looking through all the skills with the Inherit skills skill search feature, I was also considering Glimmer and Astra - I don't think he'd be a good fit for Galeforce. I need to tailor it to his specific countdown situation. The refined Maltet accelerates his special trigger by 1 per attack and guantees a follow up attack. Body/Special Fighter adds 1 charge per attack.
Bonfire is a good lower cooldown Special on him.
I checked the settings and there is actually an auto favorite setting that blocks you from being able to inherit skills from 5* rarity heroes. To inherit a skill you must either unfavorite them on the hero's profile page by unchecking the top left heart icon or have first turned off the auto favorite setting.
This is Hector's progression. (Forum image uploads don't seem to be working) https://ibb.co/D984P2N I am still deciding on which special to give him instead of Ignis, and haven't yet boosted Mystic Def 2 to 3 or gotten Special Fighter (although I think Bold Fighter serves as a decent alternative until then) but he's improving. I am using the Distant Guard, Obstruct, and Guidance seals on team members Elimine, Plumeria, and Bridal Juno (who I expect to soon replace with Nifl).
I just figured out the inheritance problem too. Units were getting favorited automatically somehow so I had to go to Ascended Fjorm's profile and unfavorite to be able to skill inherit. All 5 star heroes not potential unlocked seem to be automatically favorited so skills can't be inherited from them for some reason.
Nevermind, I just realized save skills require an armor unit and Brave Ike is infantry unfortunately. It's too bad, he would have made a good save unit otherwise. Back to the drawing board I guess.
I am also toying with the long-term idea of a dual save unit. Once getting Far Save on BHector, since I'm about to get Brave Ike as a rank 15 gift, I was thinking of getting him Near Save, then pairing with Elimine and Flayn, since BIke reduces damage from the first attack by 40%, consecutive attacks by 80%, and Elimine and Flayn each drop damage down an additional 30% while providing stat buffs.
I should say five 9.9s, I see you also have Ninja Corrin (F) on there now also. I was thinking of combining FEdelgard and Muspell into an offensive unit given Muspell's boost to allied attack and overall good offensive and defensive stats for charging into battle alongside FEdelgard. Otr, Dagr, and Elimine might all be good support options, or maybe even Plumeria to refresh FEdelgard if giving FEdelgard Galeforce.
Alright, thanks! I just got Fallen Edelgard and Muspell from the legendary pack on random summons so was thinking of getting Nifl with my 40 orb free summon as an upgrade over Juno, although long-term I will need to get Flayn instead. I also plan to save up orbs for Valentine Chrom - even though this release seems a little tooty-fruity, at least he married Olivia. That would mean having VChrom, FEdelgard, and BHector, 3 of the 4 9.9s.
If you have, or once you obtain Far Save on Brave Hector, everybody else's stats do not matter because Hector will be tanking all the ranged attacks anyway. This is where Corrin (M) becomes a better support.
The thing with Bridal Juno is, she's a seasonal unit without a unique weapon. Any other flying blue mage can inherit her weapon and replicate her role. This reduces her rating as the only thing that will make her stand out is her stat spread. Using Bridal Juno (or inheriting her weapon onto someone else) might be better than Corrin (M) if you aren't using Far Save on Brave Hector.
Team 2 also has Corrin (M), who I just decided should swap to team 1 instead of Valentine Lissa. Right now I'm looking at two tank teams in addition to my hit and run main team of Ash/NY Dagr/Otr/Reginn. Team 1: Brave Hector/Elimine/Plumeria/Valentine Lissa. Team 2: Ascendant Fjorm/Summer Hilda/Bridal Juno. Bridal Juno serves a rare support role for tank units that's hard to find, although she isn't my top tier.
Right now I have Bridal Juno at an (unimproved) level 40 stat line of 42-48-38-19-26, and that's before her 4 point Atk/Res team boost and potential 7 point Atk/Spd boost from Atk/Spd Form 3, which would certainly trigger if she played a support role in a tight formation backing a tank with Far Save. Aerobatics and Ardent Sacrifice give her some versatility in a support role, as does her flight as a mage. I somewhat prefer her over Corrin (M) for boosting the entire team's Atk/Res.
I've been looking at my support options for tanks and I think Bridal Juno is underrated at 8.0 for being a flying mage capable of team buffing Atk/Res. Her stats are not too bad either. While she may not be at the level of Elimine or Plumeria, I think there's a good argument for her being an 8.5 when looking at other 8.5s like Hatari Deene, Velouria, Norne, Libra, and Echidna. She could play a useful support role for a tank like Brave Hector or Ascended Fjorm comparable to Corrin (M).
A/D Far Save is on a banner right now with Valentine's Robin, that will suffice. All the Far Save skills perform nearly equally well, with only a small bonus to bulk separating them from each other. We do suggest that you save your orbs until at least when AHR results come out. AHR, Hero Fest, and the Valentine's banner all overlap, and you can make an informed decision where to spend your orbs once you have full information.

I tried inheriting Far Save for Hector from Ascended Fjorm but the confirm button is grayed out for some reason. I just got Plumeria to go with Elimine and Corrin as support options for Hector if I can get him Far Save. I don't have any inherit options for Special Fighter yet.
Corrin M is better because he provides invisible buffs. By doing so, you will receive full visible buffs when they are given to Hector. Also, Astram does not provide the buffs to Hector; he keeps them for himself. Usually, Hector can tank and win the green matchups as well due to Corrin and Elimine/Flayn support. Corrin can be built to handle the green matchups that Hector can't win in one round by giving him something like Fury 4 to increase both damage and bulk.
Is Astram a viable replacement for Corrin M? I’m assuming Corrin M is being preferred because of him giving a invisible buff, but wouldn’t Astram be better at covering his weaker green matchups?
Brave Hector with Corrin M and Elimine/Flayn should be enough to keep him alive and healthy for multiple engagements, assuming he has his ideal build(s) equipped. This is what one of our writers personally runs for AR in most of his matches and he gets top 1k rank quite often.
Come to think of it, maybe if I got Far Save on Brave Hector with Mystic Boost and paired him with Elimine, Corrin (M), and Bridal Juno I could use him in a specialized 2nd team while prioritizing team skills to boost his Atk/Def/Res.
I really should get him Mystic Boost 3 then. I didn't attempt to yet because he wasn't taking mage attacks even normally, but I suppose it would give him a bit of a resistance boost. Because I run a mobile hit and run team with Dagr/Reginn/Otr I didn't really want to adjust the entire team just to boost his resistance, although I think my Elimine would be a good support in boosting Def/Res. I am hoping FEdelgard wins AHR so I can have her tank.
New Years Dagr really is a must have for any mobile hit and run team though because she provides one free space for all characters passing her and two free if her Duo is on, turning Reginn and Otr's hit and run range from 3 spaces into 4-5 (depending on whether Duo is on). She can advance in front, take out an opponent, and her space becomes a 1-2 movement boost. New Years Reginn/Fafnir could then strike from a ridiculous 6 spaces away and retreat back up to 4 spaces.
Brave Hector's strength relies on all the different effects of refined Maltet and how he can shut down entire teams on his own if supported even mildly. The rankings in our tier lists take inheritance and investment into account. Does your Brave Hector have Special Fighter and Far Save?
