When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
As a hero obtainable only through Grand Hero Battle, Zeiss will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.
The best IVs for Zeiss are +Atk and -Res. Zeiss's base 48 Atk is among the highest in the game, and due to him lacking exclusive skills to make him unique, he needs every point of Atk he can obtain to keep up with better metagame units.
Zeiss's Res is below average at only base 25 and should be the bane of choice as it won't change any of his matchups.
We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Zeiss up to +10 to ensure he can remain relevant against modern metagame-relevant foes.

Zeiss is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Zeiss's inheritable Reversal Lance+ grants him Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4 during combat and inflicts Atk/Spd/Def/Res penalties onto his for equal to twice their current visible bonuses for each stat.
This in-combat Panic effect essentially reverses his foe's bonuses, inflicting enough penalties to offset the bonus and lower them further.
This effect stacks with the traditional 【Panic】, and when combined, inflicts massive debuffs to the foe's stats in combat.
Zeiss suffers from not having any unique skills to call his own, making him unable to stand out amongst other units.
Lance Flying units are quite abundant in the game, and lacking an exclusive weapon makes Zeiss replaceable by better units.
As a flying unit, Zeiss takes 1.5x damage from bows and weapons effective on flying units. Be sure to keep them out of the range of archers and leave them to other units.
