Tips and Strategies for Dire Straits
Equip Your Strongest Team
Dire Straits is the most difficult mode in the Hidden Strife Event. You need to bring the strongest team you have that follows the Ley Line Residue of the stage you chose! Each of those characters needs to be well-built as well.
Get the Afterimaged Might Fast
You only have 180 seconds or 3 minutes to beat the enemies. Check the challenge target for the Afterimaged Might and fulfill that immediately within 1 minute or less! The Powerful Enemies will appear and you can focus on defeating them next.
Eat Food for Buffs
If you are struggling with the challenge, you can eat food to make it easier. It's best to eat an ATK Food, a DEF Food, and an Elemental Potion to boost your party!

Take Out the Ruin Sentinels First
The Ruin Grader will heal itself if there are Ruin Sentinels present. So when a Ruin Grader shows up, defeat the Ruin Sentinels first so you can avoid their HP regeneration.

Break Enemy Shields
Break all Cryo Shields fast with Pyro to deal real damage on the enemies and defeat them fast! When the enemy shields are down, use reactions such as Vaporize and Melt to defeat the powerful enemies quickly.

Use Anemo to Spread Reactions
Use crowd control characters Kazuha, Venti, or Sucrose to spread the Electro reactions and to pull the enemies into a single area! This would make it easier to trigger the needed element.

Take Out the Cryo Cicin Mage and Mirror Maiden
Prioritize on taking out the Cryo Cicin Mage and the Mirror Maiden as soon as possible by using Frozen. The Cryo Cicin Mage will create a Cryo shield when left unattended, so defeat them before they can bring it out.

Focus on Using Claymore Attacks
Before you receive your Afterimaged Might, focus on doing just Claymore-specific attacks. Save your Elemental Bursts when you receive your Afterimaged Might to deal as much DMG as possible to the powerful opponents.
Use Buffs on Normal Attack Talent
Claymore DPS characters like Diluc, Razor, and Itto have Elemental Bursts that buff their Normal Attack Talents.
Supports and Sub-DPS that can increase their Normal Attack Talent even further while weakening their opponents are great partners for these characters.

Keep the Geovishaps Frozen
We recommend trying to freeze the Geovishaps as much as possible. If left unattended, the Geovishaps can move around a lot and provide themselves a Pyro or an Electro aura, making them immune to Frozen.

What is Dire Straits in Hidden Strife?
Extreme Battle Difficulty
Dire Straits is a type of difficulty in the Hidden Strife Event. You unlock it after completing the first sets of difficulties in the Vicious Battle category. The enemies in this challenge either have a larger HP or their DEF is buffed making them extremely hard to beat!
