Auto Battle Guide

Suikoden 2 - Auto Battle Guide

The Auto Battle is a feature in Suikoden 2 HD Remaster where you fight battles automatically. Read on to learn how Auto Battle works, when it becomes available in the game, and some tips on when to use auto battle!

How Does Auto Battle Work?

Attacks Enemies Without Commands

Auto Battle Description

When Auto Battle is activated, all party members will use their standard physical attacks each turn without requiring player input. This simplifies combat but removes strategic control over abilities, formations, and targeting.

Will Not Use Runes and Items

Characters will never use Runes or consume items during Auto Battle. This means healing and buffs must be handled manually if necessary.

Because of this limitation, Auto Battle is best used in fights where magic and special abilities are not needed.

Battle Speed

Auto Battle is ideal for speeding up random encounters and grinding. Since characters attack automatically, battles are resolved much faster than when manually selecting commands.

Fast Forward Battles For Quicker Fights

Suikoden 2 HD Remaster includes a fast-forward feature that can be combined with Auto Battle to complete encounters even more quickly.

This is useful for grinding experience, farming items, or moving through dungeons with minimal delays.

Available From Start of the Game

Auto Battle is available from the start of the game. However, early in the game, when characters have limited abilities and lower stats, it may not always be the best option for every fight.

Tips for Using Auto Battle

Auto Battle Tips

Only Use When Fighting Lower Level Enemies

Lower Level

Auto Battle is most effective against weaker enemies that can be defeated quickly with basic attacks. If enemies have high defense, special abilities, or status effects, manual control may be necessary.

Don't Use When Outnumbered

Outnumbered

If the party is outnumbered, especially by enemies that can deal heavy damage or inflict status effects, Auto Battle may put your characters at risk.

In such cases, manual input allows for better control over healing and defensive strategies.

Don't Use on Bosses

Boss Battle

Boss fights require careful planning, including the use of Runes, healing items, and shifting party formation. Since Auto Battle does not use magic or items, it is not suitable for boss battles, where strategy and resource management are essential.
