How to Recruit the Hero
1 Have eligible save data from Suikoden 1.
2 Defeat Luca Blight in Walkthrough Part 7.
3 Head to Banner Village and speak with Ko.
4 Head to the McDohl house in Gregminster.

The only way to recruit the Hero of Suikoden 1 in Suikoden 2 is to carry over save data from Suikoden 1. Players would have need to get to the final chapter of Suikoden 1 for it to be viable for data carrry over so we recommend finishing Suikoden 1 before Suikoden 2.

You can only carry over your save data from Suikoden 1 when you play Suikoden 2 for the first time. Note that if you start the game without carrying the data over at the start, you will not be able to carry over the data of Suikoden 1 later on.

Talking to Ko will trigger the Hero's recruitment quest which entails defeating two bosses: the Worm and Poison Moth. They are difficult enemies so make sure to level up and optimize your gear before the recruitment quest.
