| How to Catch Zygarde | |
|---|---|
| 1 | ![]() Catch Xerneas from Main Mission 40: The One That Gives and Yveltal from Main Mission 41: The One That Takes. These will become available after you complete the game and play through Infinite Z-A Royale once. |
| 2 | ![]() After catching the two, head back to Hotel Z. This will not appear in your map, so head there when you're stocked up and ready. |
| 3 | ![]() After getting there, L will challenge you to a a battle. You need to win this trainer battle in order to proceed. |
| 4 | ![]() After beating him, head to Wild Zone 20, and Zygarde will be waiting for you there in it's 10% Forme. |
| 5 | ![]() You need to face off against Zygarde on three consecutive Rogue Battles. This will be against its 10%, 50%, and Complete Formes. |
| 6 | ![]() After beating Zygarde, you can capture it in any Ball you wish to (this is a guaranteed capture). L will drop by after and give you the Zygarde Cube to let you switch between its 10% and 50% Formes.. |
Zygarde can be obtained in the post-credits Main Mission 42, "To Keep the World in Balance". After capturing Xerneas and Yveltal, which are the conditions for unlocking Zygarde, you will not be notified that you can proceed with the quest. The mission will only begin once you head to Hotel Z.
To Keep the World in Balance Walkthrough (Main Mission 42)

Zygarde will have three perfect IVs that will be permanent the moment you capture it. Since you cannot turn off Autosave, you either have to use a Backup Save, or use three Bottle Caps to max out your IVs.

Just like the Ogerpon Battle in the Teal Mask DLC, defeating Zygarde is a guaranteed capture to any Poke Ball. This means you can use Poke Balls like the Friend Ball or Nest Ball so it can match its Poke Ball!

The Zygarde battle is a consecutive three-round boss battle, against its 10% Forme, 50% Forme, and Complete Forme . It follows the same format as the Rogue Mega Evolution battles, so be sure to prepare thoroughly before taking on the challenge.

We recommended using Mega Evolutions of Ice or Fairy types. Since Zygarde is a battle battle of survival and endurance, it is effective to have multiple of these Pokemon in your party.
Mega Venusaur stands out as it can poison Zygarde while also taking neutral damage to Ground Type moves, which other Poison Megas don't have the luxury of.

Mega Zygarde
|

You can use the Zygarde Cube to change between Zygarde's 10% and 50% Formes.
Do note that for it to change to its Complete Forme, Zygarde's health needs to be brought down to 50%. It can then Mega Evolve into Mega Zygarde if it is holding a Zygardite.
How to Get and Use the Zygarde Cube
| Nature | Stat Changes |
|---|---|
| Impish | ↑ Defense, ↓ SpAtk |
| Careful | ↑ SpDef, ↓ SpAtk |
Due to Zygarde (50% Forme) having very high Defensive stats, its best natures are either Impish or Careful to boost its Defense or Special Defense further.
Zygarde (50% Forme) also has a better Attack stat compared to its Special Attack, so choosing one of the above natures allows Zygarde (50% Forme) to still deal some damage with its Physical Moves.
| Nature | Stat Changes |
|---|---|
| Relaxed | ↑ Defense, ↓ Speed |
| Sassy | ↑ SpDef, ↓ Speed |
You can also give Zygarde (50% Forme) either Relaxed or Sassy nature, allowing you to increase your Defense or Special Defense at the cost of reduced Speed.
Keep in mind that giving Zygarde (50% Forme) any of the above two natures will increase the cooldown of moves, putting you at a disadvantage against faster Pokemon.

If your Zygarde (50% Forme) has a different Nature than the ones we recommend above, you can use a Mint to change its Nature.

We recommend the moves Land’s Wrath, Core Enforcer, Thousand Arrows, and Thousand Waves when using Zygarde (50% Forme) during the main story.
