| ① Balance Between Ease-of-Use and Power
While the very best builds house significant damage output across the board, the overall mechanical skill required to dish them out effectively is what separates the very best. Note that when two builds perform at roughly the same level, the one that is easier to execute will be the clear winner. |
| ② Overall Build Synergy
To say that builds can be complex in Diablo 4 is an understatement! A great build must have all of its parts, from skills to paragon boards, laid out in a way that is intuitive and maximizes synergy across the board to ensure maximum efficiency. The release of the Abattoir of Zir added the Tears of Blood glyph, which provides DPS scaling based on how many main stat nodes are within a glyph socket's radius. The builds on this list were evaluated based on how well they scaled with this new rune. |
| ③ Abattoir of Zir Performance (Season 2)
On top of standard endgame content such as nightmare dungeons, these builds are heavily evaluated based on how many tiers they can efficiently clear in the Abattoir of Zir. |

| Evaluation: The king of Barb builds retains its throne in the Abattoir of Zir. HotA, as with other endgame content, performs extremely well and can clear the entire abattoir with its great damage scaling after adding Tears of Blood. | |
 Double Swing

|
| Evaluation: Double Swing's good sustain and clear speed makes it a steady climber in the Abattoir of Zir. Players can expect a comfortable climb across the tiers with this build. | |
 Thorns
|
|
| Evaluation: This build's high survivability makes it exceptionally strong when it comes to clearing Abattoir of Zir Dungeons. With the combination of Frenzy, you can dish out considerable damage while cruising through a barrage of enemy attacks. | |
 Upheaval
|
|
| Evaluation: Upheaval's high burst damage is hampered by its overall clunkiness. This is more apparent when climbing the Abattoir of Zir's tiers. It often feels like a lesser version of HotA. | |
 Walking Arsenal
|
|
| Evaluation: Walking Arsenal suffers the same issue as Upheaval in that it's potential is brought down by the clunkiness of its kit. While the damage is certainly up there with the Double Swing and HotA, the effort required to consistently pull it off is significantly higher than the others. | |
 Whirlwind
|
|
| Evaluation: Whirlwind can still clear the Abattoir of Zir, but it often struggles once players reach the tiers 10 and above. It is simply outclassed by other Barb builds in this meta. |

|
| Evaluation: A D4 classic that remains at the top of Druid builds. Tornado Wolf's great blend of DPS and mobility performs extremely well in the Abattoir of Zir. | |
 Pulverize Werebear
|
|
| Evaluation: A steady climber in the Abattoir of Zir. Pulverize Werebear might not be the fastest when it comes to pushing the latest pinnacle content, but the introduction of Tears of Blood lets its overpower procs scale throughout the tiers. | |
 Poison Shred
|
|
| Evaluation: Update 1.2.3 gave poison shred the perfect glyph to reach the next level in terms of DPS. The introduction of Tears of Blood allowed Poison Shred to clear up the mid-to-high tiers of the Abattoir of Zir. | |
 Lightning Storm Wolf

|
| Evaluation: LS Wolf performs decently in the Abattoir of Zir mostly due to the damage scaling provided by Tears of Blood. However, it still isn't up to par with the upper echelon of Druid builds as of Update 1.2.3 |

| Evaluation: Infinimist, while not spectacular in terms of firepower versus other top tier builds, does have more than enough sustainability to climb the Abattoir of Zir. It's currently the best Necromancer build if you're looking for a comfy experience. | |

Corpse Explosion Blight

| Evaluation: CE Blight is a tanky choice for Necromancers. While it doesn't reach the levels of survability that Infinimist has, it still boasts a very intuitive and easy-to-use kit and provides a comfy experience for players. | |
 Bone Spear
|
|
| Evaluation: Bone Spear's damage is great in the Abattoir of Zir. The issue lies with its terrible survivability, which requires players to play nearly perfect from the get-go. | |
 Blood Lance
|
|
| Evaluation: Blood Lance's damage output is on par with Bone Spear builds, but with even worse survivability. This build takes the term glass cannon to a higher level and is not recommended for those looking for a smoother experience. Pick it up if you prefer the challenge. |

 Death Trap

| Evaluation: Death Trap has performed well in the Abattoir of Zir. The trap's uptime has seen improvement since the addition of vampiric powers, specifically Anticipation, and can clear them mid-to-high tiers of the Abattoir of Zir with its sheer firepower and the DPS scaling from Tears of Blood. | |
 Penetrating Shot

| Evaluation: A ranged build whose high burst damage is taken to the next level with Tears of Blood. The only thing stopping this build from reaching the top of the tier list is its not as easy to use as Twisting Blades due to the need for good positioning. This is especially important in higher tiers in Abattoir of Zir. | |
 Rapid Fire

|
| Evaluation: Rapid Fire is steady climber, with decent mobility and damage output. It tends to struggle once players reach the mid-to-high tiers of the Abattoir of Zir, which puts it lower on the tier list. | |
 Barrage
|
|
| Evaluation: Barrage climbs the Abattoir of Zir well due to its high CC and damage output. However, it is evaluated at the middle of the tier list due to how mechanically demanding it is to play effectively, especially in high tiers. |
