Fireball Meteor Build Tips

Recommended Openers and Rotations

Trash Mob Opener and Skill Rotation

1 Start encounters by casting Flame Shield to get 25% Mana Cost reduction, followed by casting Fireball and Meteor.
Note: Make sure to group enemies, especially in enclosed areas so that Fireball bounces between the walls and enemies.
2 Use Frost Nova to freeze as many nearby foes as possible and inflict Vulnerability.
3 Use Teleport to reposition or surge through enemies to deal damage. You may also combo Frost Nova after teleporting to inflict the Vulnerable debuff.
4 Weave Fireball and Meteor against Elites, making sure to use Flame Shield beforehand to reduce the cost of your skills.

Your rotation when handling trash mobs and elites is relatively simple, with just careful positioning required so that you don't get surrounded by large groups of enemies.

Make sure to cast Flame Shield before doing your primary rotation to reduce the cost of your skills and give you more opportunities to spam Fireball and Meteor.

Boss Opener

1 Start encounters by casting Flame Shield to get 25% Mana Cost reduction, followed by casting Fireball and Meteor
2 Use Frost Nova to inflict Vulnerability, then quickly Teleport away from the boss' attacks.
3 After repositioning, weave Fireball and Meteor against Elites, making sure to use Flame Shield beforehand to reduce the cost of your skills.

You have a similar and very simple rotation during boss fights, though you may not always have the advantage of terrain to get as much bounce from Fireball.

On larger bosses, stay close so that you have more control on where your Fireball lands. Only Teleport and reposition when it's using an AoE or an attack that can stun you.

Take Advantage of the Terrain

Fireball shines in enclosed spaces where it can bounce several times between the walls and enemies.

When tackling large groups of trash mobs, it's a good idea to corral them in spaces where you can strategically use Fireball to get several bounces and maximize your damage output.

Save Frost Nova for Larger Groups and Bosses

Frost Nova is this build's only way to apply vulnerability and has a long cooldown. To get as much damage as possible with your build, save Frost Nova for larger groups of enemies, elites, and bosses and immediately follow up with your attacks.
